Yep, can you imagine going up to Klopp saying we want to interview him but he'll be up against 11 others. He'll rightly say **** right off.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostI’m a bit concerned by interviewing so many people we’re going to alienate them all slightly. Managers want to feel wanted. You headhunt someone for a position like this not advertise on Monster.com
To get someone like Guardiola you have to make him feel special, that he’s the only one you’re interested in. If he knows he’s just one of 12 being interviewed I don’t even think he’d bother turning up.
The guardian alludes to Rodgers turning it down for that reason, he doesn't want to appear chasing the job as theres no actual offer of it, just an interview.

Both of these spot on. I don't think Dave Whelan opening his Fergie stained mouth about Martinez has helped matters though.

I can't believe we're going about it this way.
Only explanation is, they don't want to be rejected by the likes of Klopp and make Martinez feel like a fall back option.. The whole thing is a **** up from the outside looking in.Vive la France

Alternatively, the owners know little about English football culture and croneyism. They've already been bitten once and want to weed out potential car-crashes earlier in the process. Nothing like a good old fashioned interview to get people sweating.Originally posted by Rich View Post12 candidates to interview is ludicrous, we sound like a bunch of rank amateurs.
Those that go prepared for the 'challenge' usually succeed, and are generally successful. Those that go with a big head are quickly found out.One tit for another.
