...you doing that just reminded me of his appearance at the Hillsborough Memorial the other year and the crowd all singing his name as he broke down in tears.

Whether he's in contention or not, that man has had nothing but the utmost respect and support for the JFT96 and Support Groups, as well as the club and its history. He just gets it. Like Kenny. And like Roy never could.

Those stats are massively flawed though dependent on the calibre of clubs managed. Mourinho and Guardiola's wouldn't be nearly so high if they'd started off with lesser clubs. I'd say anything above the 50-55% mark and up is excellent as a very general benchmark.

He would struggle on a wet wednesday night in Stoke.

Are you advocating Tony Pulis for the job there?

Not saying we would ever get him but Mourinho would be the worst possible candidate for us - our name's already mud at the moment without him snarling at everyone every time we lose. He's obviously waiting for Citeh to drop a giant truckload of money on his doorstep before he starts talking about "a new challenge" or some smeg.

Don't blame Rodgers for turning us down - very sensible, the move is too much too soon really and he has a good thing going on with Swansea, Swans fans would butcher him if it looked like he was wanting out after only one Premier League season.

Warming to the idea of Martinez as a coach - not manager - under this new FSG plan whereby all higher aspects of the management are split. Should breed consistency across coaches as would cause minimal changes.

                            It is far too simplistic.

O'Neill's is boosted because he managed Celtic for 5 years.
