Rumour has it on Twitter by some journos (McNulty) that AVB is strong favourite.

I think 'let's wait and see' should be at the beginning of your post instead of the end.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostThe owners are getting the backlash of sacking Kenny and rightly so. You don't treat Kenny Dalglish like that.
If they turn this around then they'll be hailed. Let's wait and see.
Let's see who they bring in before we crucify them for a decision they haven't even made yet. Let's see who they appoint as director of football. Let's see what kindof transfer budget we're given. Let's see how it all comes together next season.K ris90210

Did we actually try and get AVB when he went to Chavski ? If we did, seems obvious we'd try again, had a bad spell at Chelsea, but it's not a difinitive judgement on how he'd do with time and some money season on season though, Chelsea could just be seen as an anomaly due to circumstances, like...a too Powerful/Stubborn Lampard and Terry ?.

They already made a decision. They sacked Kenny Dalglish. I'm curious to see if they're prepared to be patient with whoever they bring in.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostI think 'let's wait and see' should be at the beginning of your post instead of the end.

For sure mate - highly, highly unlikely. Saying that, who knows. He knows some of the people at the club and spoken about us fondly over the past couple of years. The pressure of being Barca coach was enormous compared to what it would be with us.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostThe Pep link makes no sense to me.. If Barcelona cannot convince him to stay what chance do we have? He said he needs a rest not a new challenge if I'm right in saying that. People putting 1+1 together and coming up with 5 as usual.
I do think it's extremely unlikely, but it's worth a shot isn't itK ris90210

Absolutely, so why actively engage in a pointless pissing contest?!Originally posted by Lecter View PostNo different than saying anyone who doesnt rate Martinez "why because the dont like football "
Anyway...
I'm inclined to ignore Rafa rumours at the minute, fear of false hope. I like Martinez but he's be a big gamble to say the least. If we end up with him because people see something in him, that's one thing, I just hope it's not because we're failing to attract more attractive propositions.
I find it a bit disconcerting it is so public someone has been offered an interview and turned it down - surely the people running our club know how to test the water?Like blood on iron

Ah, well I happen to think - sad as it is - that they made the right decision on that front. Just a couple of points really.. 1. How stupid would this all look if they pulled something like that off and 2. Is it just me that would still have reservations even about Pep? I mean he's only ever managed possibly the greatest ever side in football.. Backed up with one of the best ever youth systems and sides.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostFor sure mate - highly, highly unlikely. Saying that, who knows. It will only prove the right decision if the subsequent appointment is betterOriginally posted by kris90210 View PostAh, well I happen to think - sad as it is - that they made the right decision on that front. So I guess we'll have to agree to disagree
If it isnt then the decision was sa mistake
I remember being on here when Rafa left and some people thought it was the right decision then
They didnt think that a few weeks later

He wants a break from top flight football
Liverpool FC looks the perfect place for that
