Although I am concerned at the moment with no manager, DoF or anyone else in a managerial role that is a genuine "football man" I do believe that FSG will do their upmost to get it right and employ the best manager they can find.

I actually think this is the route they'd have wanted to go last Summer but gave Kenny the job after what he'd done for us in the back end of the previous season, and let's be honest the backlash from the fans would have huge if he'd not got the job.

It's starting to feel like they'll go for AVB, if he's given a fair crack of the whip he could be a very good for us and I just dont think Rafa will be back

Also, the one big thing he got right in his time at Lfc was hiring Rafa.

The mistake was appointing Kenny full time because the only way it was going to end was in tears, was just a matter of when. FSG knew that, they wanted the kind of younger man with a plan manager then and I think they bottled the decision last summer.

hmmm, could be, i sort of have them down as being stronger than that tbh, don't see them doing that, then giving Kenny a longer contract, wasting all that time if they thought he was the wrong man for job in the first place.

Could be they just wanted AVB and couldn't get him.

Whichever slant we put on it fergie is a terrific manager and as important shankly and kenny are to us fergie is to them. Dont get me wrong I have no affection for him but you have to respect the guy for what hes achieved.

You don't have to respect anyone for what they've achieved, you need to think they are a decent human being first and foremost.

I think he'd earned a fair crack in absence of any outstanding candidates.

I think a big reason for that is because Rafa's detractors almost always cite the same, identical misrepresentations of him. Be it about zonal marking, his signings, his spending, rotation, tactics, or of course, the famous 'rant'.

Its always the same factually incorrect, unbalanced, unfounded rubbish every time.
It also happens to be the same skewed or outright wrong information that many of the rags and Sky used to delight in when talking about Benítez.

Pure speculation, we don't know who they want know and we didn't know who they wanted then.

I owners keep quiet, and get things done behind the scenes, and I believe it's the right way.

Too many if's and but's imo to know difinitively who they did or didn't want. tbh, maybe Kenny wasn't their first choice, but not sure that equates to not wanting him.
