Frank De boer is a manager who has won his league and qualified for the Champions league.Him and the likes of Klopp and AVB are the type I hope we go for, rather than the elder statesmen like Van Gaal and Capello.

Everyone is a risk for sure, but some are less of a risk then others.
I'm not advocating Pardew for us BTW. More just an observation about how some managers whose quality is not obvious as fans can have a big impact.

I also think that the AVB and Rafa examples suggest that no matter how talented a manager coming in from foreign leagues can be a difficult challenge at first. If the argument is that we need to get the CL next season then I think the switch of leagues has to be counted against anyone coming in from abroad. Personally I'd like to see us look longer term and it wouldn't worry me so long as we have a philosophy that I can see giving us sustained success after a couple of years.

Isn't that Fiorentina manager now available? He got sacked for punching an ex man utd player.
Let's give the mad ******* a year. He can have a punch up with fergie and then he can make way for Pep Guardiola in a years time.

Oh dear, thats really embarrassing. I think in the desire for some momentum and action supporters need to realise it has only been a couple of days since Kenny was sacked, and less than a week since the end of last season. We perhaps need to keep our cool and allow the decision making process to unfold. I'm not sure how comments like "Are suitably qualified individuals making these decisions?" will be received. They are slightly inappropriate, as the return question could be "Are these concerns being raised by suitably qualified individuals?".

                  Hopefully hear from you soon.

Thought it was pointless- nobody at the club was devaluing the cup competitions. We need to be closer to the top four to challenge the top four, we need to challenge the top four before we can win the league, what ayre said was correct.

                          From the above link

                          Ian Ayre:

"I can tell you categorically that Alan Kayll and Paul Tompkins have had no input on the manager or anything else for that matter. I've seen a lot of that stuff being suggested and it's nonsense."

I doubt Rafa will be approached surely if he does he gets the job. He is the best choice. But have a feeling the yanks want yes men in the club.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

Being extremly Pessimistic here. I still can not believe they have SACKed Kenny.

However, What happens say 6 - 12 months down the line after FSG have appointed their first Choice. Lets say He turns out to be a rather poor one and we fail to get Champions League. They decide to Sack him/her.

Who do they turn then? They would have pissed off 11 Candiates already for either openly courting them and/or inviting them to an interview only for them not to get a job. Managers tend to be egotistical in one sense and have a sense of pride and wanting to the main man target. You don't want to be a fallback option?

That bunch are a right group of whores I know they mean well but their hamfisted attempts to thrust themselves forward at every opportunity just reminds me of the desperate folks that used to go on that 'we'd do anything to get on TV' jive that was in the word.

Still, as long as they make the papers la. After all! How can fans publically questioning the abilities of our owners possibly be seen in a bad light by the rest of Footydom.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
