According to Duncan Jenkins on Twitter (one of the most reliable ITK's there is), FSG aren't put off by Villas-Boas' time at Chelsea.

Pelligrini is not Rafa though.Originally posted by Baracus View PostDoes Pelligrini not still manage them?
They have just taken 4th spot too?
Would fit them nicely as they will invest in the team next year even more.

I wouldn't say it was 'embarrassing'. De Boer is obviously eager to learn his trade and doesn't want to rush his managerial career, if anything, his loyalty is rather noble.Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostDe Boer’s rejection is embarrassing to Liverpool, but officials maintain that such setbacks are a natural part of a process to find the best available manager.

If Martinez had said 'no', *that* would have been embarrassing.

I think he might have said yes if it wasn't so public.Originally posted by doogle View PostBrendon Rodgers said no
But I could be wrong and maybe he thinks it's too soon for him too.
Either way, I'm not too concerned by managers saying no, it's when people that are out of a job turn us down when I'll be worried!

After Babel tweet I'm curious to know if he would be what we need.Originally posted by Muddled View PostI wouldn't say it was 'embarrassing'. De Boer is obviously eager to learn his trade and doesn't want to rush his managerial career, if anything, his loyalty is rather noble.

Luis also seems to be fond of him + Ajax have some great youngsters that he may be able to pursue to join.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

De Boer has made a promise to Ajax, he obviously feels he owes them time, so fair play to him; they took a risk (ish) appointing him and now he's repaying their faith.
I agree with your point about Ajax, it seems he could have a bright future.
