    Yep.

The more I think about it, the more I would prefer anyne on this forum over AVB. I think he will be a disaster.
    Oh I don't know.

We are all wrong sometimes, Dom. I think your wrong on this one, very wrong.

Edit: Im only basing my support of him on style, not substance.

I'll be disappointed if we hire Martinez.

Don't think he has what it takes to lift us up the table.

To be honest I haven't got a clue.

All I know is I have ruled myself out on that basis.

Prepare for another massively underwhelming summer. Liverpool FC is such an uninspiring place right now, it just makes me wonder how far off the pulse FSG are with the club. Worrying times.

It is hard to be Dave, it really is. Not all FSG's fault mind, but right now we are at a really crucial juncture and I fear they are about to take a huge gamble with the future of the club. I can only pray it works (Martinez) but have my doubts and if he does fail it will set us back many many years (especially with FSG's financial model).

Bring back Rafa and at least we know what we are going to get. Yes there will be incredibly frustrating times ahead but undeniably he will bring progress on the pitch.

I still don't see what FSG have done that's so bad? I'm talking cold hard facts too. Not conjecture and rumour.

martinez is a team builder, which is what we need. he is not a manager who gathers galacticos, such as capello, rikaard, etc.

the important thing for me is who will over see the manager as DoF. this will be the guy who will bring in the players and help guide the footballing mantra. martinez will come in as coach, as he is relatively inexperienced. he will grow into the managers role once he settles in.
martinez has identified decent players on a tight budget and done quite well if you also consider his time at swansea.

some might say we should look for a bigger name. the right man with the right attitude and hunger is more important than some big name who will come for the money, and even if they do not deliver, will leave taking millions in severance pay off.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                            True.
                            Are we winning?

He's not going to die soon, and there's definitely managers a lot older whom have won things. People said he was too old earlier in his career when he was a success with Real Madrid and Juve, he's one of the finest of our our era and compared to the other **** that's been linked with us would be a superb choice, he wasn't fantastic with England, but let's be frank, even the best of us can't polish ****. He has a way of squeezing everything out of a squad, and that's exactly what we could do with right now, when you consider the limited nature of our squad and in all probability not enough money to reinforce all areas with enough quality. For me, if it's between him and a number of inexperienced rookie managers, then it's Fabio all day. After Rafa, he's actually one of my preferred choices overall.
Agreed. He's had repeat success pretty much everywhere he's been. He's proven himself to be one of the best managers of the last 20 years. Even though his record with England wasn't amazing, just look at his win percentage - it's huge! I also think of all the managers we've been linked with (including Rafa), he'd be the biggest draw for incoming players.

It's all well and good us wanting to play attractive football, and get a young coach in to build some sort of dynasty. But maybe we'd be better off with a pragmatic coach who knows how to win first. Someone to get us back into the top 4.

I'd be really happy with Capello.
