If fsg appoint van gaal as dof it shows that they havent learned anything from the whole hodgson and kenny era.
Van gaak wants the managers job and I dont think he would have an issue undermining the manager to get it. Theres very little point in bringing in a manager to work under someone who wants their job.
Its stupid and its divisive. We dont any more of that.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

You're right, I had Swansea to go straight back down - rooted bottom from memory. However, a lot of pundits tipped Newcastle to struggle - but they set up to get the best out of the limited resources they had and mixed with a little fortune, over-achieved.
What I did see from Swansea this year was some great football and I agree, they certainly over-achieved and can't be faulted for not challenging near the top - especially in their first season in the Premiership.
My point, I guess, is that Newcastle adapted during the season (changing their formation etc), whilst Swansea stuck to their gameplan. Whilst Swansea might look pretty on the statistics, we've just sacked a manager on the Premier League table alone. As is our current situation, can we afford to take on a manager that makes us aesthetically pleasing, or do we need to get someone in proven to get results?
We all know our current predicament and the fine line we are walking between falling away and building up, we can't afford to get this wrong - can we rely on statistics or do we need to look at facts?
From what I have been reading on the plan b stuff is this...Originally posted by frank the tank View Postwhat annoys me a bit is that they are likely to come out with something along the lines of "Klopp has a last minute change of heart and commits to Dortmund" - and there must be some idiots who believe them every time....
With regards to Swansea, I went to Fulham v Swansea in March. Swansea went to Craven Cottage and basically played them off the park. They won 3-0 but possession wise, it was something like 75%. They were awesome. I had heard that they were good but couldn't believe it when i saw it. Pass and move...pass and move....pass and move...... fulham were chasing shadows for the whole game. I have seen Barcelona live and this was as impressive to be honest.
Rodgers maybe doesnt have a plan B but to be honest, since Rafa's last season, LFC look like they don't have a plan-A.....let alone a plan-B, C or D!!!
It would be very very interesting to see what he could do with better players. Yes he might fail, but then ANY manager, probably bar Mourinho, has a reasonably strong possibility of failure at LFC.
Players will make mistakes from time to time, it is unavoidable, and that will lead to conceding goals / defeats. The natural instinct is to therefore revert to type, or panic by hoofing it rather than sticking to your principles which are working for the most part. The plan A is simply so ingrained in to the mindset that to deviate from it results in it all falling apart in all likelihood.
This would also happen at LFC, but the quality of player available should result in fewer mistakes, and the team would be more likely to stick with those principles, which should in turn result in a better outcome than with limited players.
I would rather plan B or C meaning substituting underperforming players than resorting to an unplanned way of playing.

It's a cliche, so it must be true.
How about Newcastle last season?

Swansea city fc: A statement read: "We would like to clarify the speculation in the press surrounding our manager Brendan Rodgers.
"We would like to confirm that there has been no contact from Liverpool and nothing has changed since our previous statement on the issue."
Rodgers sunbbed Anfield chiefs as he did not want to unsettle his current position at the Swans, with Liverpool offering no guarantee he would get the job as they looked to interview a number of candidates.
The 39-year-old guided Swansea to an 11th place finish in their debut Premier League season, and it is that success that has seen him linked with a number of posts in recent weeks, including those at Chelsea and Aston Villa.
There have been claims Rodgers was flown to America for talks about the job over the weekend but those are wide of the mark, with Rodgers having planned a trip to New York several months ago.
WalesOnline can reveal Rodgers is on actually his way back to the UK today, with Swans chiefs still confident Rodgers is going nowhere.

Martinez’s future is still uncertain
By Paul Kendrick
Published on Monday 28 May 2012 09:38
THE future of Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez remains very much up in the air, as the Spaniard continues to soak up the sun in Barbados.
It was widely reported on Sunday that Latics would be holding a press conference this coming Tuesday during which Martinez would reveal whether or not he will stay at the club.
However, the Evening Post can reveal that is NOT the case – and club officials are baffled as to where these reports have come from, and how they have been taken as gospel.

Dodgiest post in Est history..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
