I dont trust FSG, I don't trust any business lead consortium, but whoever they appoint gets my backing.

To date they have said nothing, the way it should be all talking has been done by other outside agencies so well done to them for that.

But they have actually done little yet to justify the fans backing, both on transfers and the stadium project they have deceived to flatter.

          I agree.

While some (including myself) should be looking at the long term (as FSG "appear" to be) we live in an impatient world. Maybe we are experiencing growing pains at the moment but I cannot help but feel this DoF/Manager combination is going to be an absolute mess and set us back even further from square one.

Thing is, as much as I am generally disappointed with FSG (mainly due to the stadium issue) I think JWH is a genuinely nice guy and I do kind of trust him. I just hope he does not let us down.

after reading a bit more into BR I will be more than happy if he comes in with someone like LVH as the DoF.

If FSG wanted a young dynamic coach, they couldn't have done any worse than Deschamps, who has demonstrated at a young age that he can win trophies. My first choice would be Van Gaal. His CV speaks for itself and he is available.

                      Article from Bascombe.

Key bit from it which I hope isn't true is this:

Another significant factor is Liverpool’s cooling in interest in Dutchman Louis van Gaal, whose chances of an Anfield role have receded significantly as FSG have continued their structural review. It was swiftly established Roberto Martínez and Rodgers would refuse to work under Van Gaal if he was sporting director.

If it is Rogers someone else needs to control transfers

He spent 1.75m on Leroy Lita FFS

WTGOR you are being very pedantic - the role of FSG is part of the whole club structure and Manager recruitment process, so it is fair game they are discussed here.

So, to stay on topic.... Brendan Rodgers.

                            ??

And perhaps so, but the last 2-3 pages have turned in to a pro/anti owners discussion, stadium, Dalglish and have nothing to do with the recruitment of our new managers, profile etc.

I just want it back on topic about our new manager, and recruitment proces is fine. Most people come to this thread for news on the manager front and not for a longer discussion about who is happy with our owners and who is not

                            And yes Brendan Rodgers FTW

Rogers and Martinez do not have a proven track record at the highest level. Nobody knows whether they could manage a larger club, nor do we know whether they can handle the expectation and egos at a big club. That's obviously presuming we are still considered a big club. Obviously we are not going to attract Mourinho or Guardiola, but realistically speaking my order of preference would be as follows: 1. Van Gaal 2. Deschamps 3. Klopp 4. AVB 5. Rafa 6. Jol 7. Lambert 8. Rogers 9. Martinez.
