I truly believe that we can go all out provided we have the right people in place...

Football is not about buying the best players all the time, its about finding the right balance in the team.
It is possible to beat the big spenders to the title, if you get all the right people in their places ... I won't speak about the other aspects of FSG's reign at LFC, but I am not confident that they would find the right people for the right spots on our management structure ... I have asked on several occasions, but no-one seems to know the answer to the most important questions:

    1. Who is making the football related decisions at LFC at the moment?
    2. Who will decide what DoF candidate is right for LFC?
    3. Who will decide what managerial candidate is right for LFC?

Our current squad costs a bit, but look at where that got us... As mentioned we will need investment into the current squad but I believe we do have the core in place at the moment. We just need the right manager...
I have a good feeling for next season.

Did you seriously expect anybody on Est 1892 to know the answer to these questions?

Well the most important thing is that the club know. You are a fan, while you have an emotional stake, that is all it is. You don't have a right to know, you wait till they inform you.

It must be us, seriously, because we have the same issue with players. Good ones become available and we tend to somehow sign the **** ones (most of the time).

I still think we could be an incredible investment for China. We are the perfect fit for them so I hope if there ever is any interest, FSG will lend an ear.

Suffice to say he is not being considered and is being scoffed at because where he manages, not due to his abilities. At any other club he'd be a contender and most likely ahead of Messrs Rodgers and Martinez. Anyway, enough of his candidacy on this thread as it won't happen.
He shouldn't be considered because for the vast majority of his tenure with the bitters he has served up dour, tedious ****e.

I agree on the questions posed. I guess we will see soon enough though.. The other thing is, maybe things are in place at the moment and the right people are making the right decisions, we will never know.... I'll give FSG the benefit of the doubt for now..

It has in comparison to the likes of Everton and Wigan, but not in relation to the likes of Citeh, Chelsea and Man Utd. Even with Carroll, we're still a way off the top clubs.

We had no Oligarch or Shiek banging down our door to purchase, so we have to go with FSG, give them the benefit of some time and see where it takes us.

Now is a crucial stage in the clubs development though, people need to see and hear about an upbeat and positive LFC.

Do they? The only senior figure at LFC that has experience in football is Ian Ayre, and that experience is limited to 3 disastrous years as Huddersfield's CEO ... And of course that I am emotional about the club that I have been supporting for 35 years ... The last time when we didn't have the right to know, and have been waiting to be informed, this has happened ...

Robbie Fowler exclusive: I’d be worried about Martinez

Robbie Fowler joins Paddy Power as a columnist for Euro 2012. Today he gives his views on the betting to become next Liverpool manager.

I love Kenny Dalglish. He was a brilliant player, a brilliant manager, and a brilliant man.

But football is big business. John Henry and the Fenway Sports Group have put a lot of cash into Liverpool so they can do what they want, really.

Sacking Kenny certainly wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Certainly not mine.

I like stability at a club. You can’t just keep getting rid of players or managers.

How long has Alex Ferguson been at Old Trafford? Nobody gets that chance now.

But Rafa Benitez, who was an early contender to go back to Anfield, would have learned from his mistakes, and could have done a job there again.

That said, I know people who have worked with Roberto Martinez and rate him highly. He’s done a fantastic job at Wigan.

But that in itself worries me.

Liverpool is a big club with big standards. Wigan is a little club.

And what miffs me or worries me is that, sure, Martinez brought Wigan on a run at the end of the season and they avoided relegation. But what about the 30 games before that?

It’s a massive step-up for Martinez or Brendan Rodgers to manage Liverpool.

Whoever gets the job will need to bring in new players again to take Liverpool from a top eight club to a top four club. That’s going to be really, really difficult. It’s a massive challenge.

Because the top four are going to bring in new players too and that gulf increases again.

Have to say it, right now the 2012/2013 season looks like it’s going to be another difficult one for Liverpool fans.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Do you own a stake in the club? Simple fact is that no matter what you think, you don't have a right to be part of the decision making, you where not consulted when we appointed Rafa where you? Did you expect consultation on the appointment on Houllier? No, you are being hysterical.
