. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I reckon Martinez turned Liverpool job down - the lads I know had said he would only come if everything was right in terms of control!

i think rogers tactics will work well fairly quickly with the squad we have. we played a lot of possession football last season so his work will be around movement, positional play and game tempo.
the one thing i do like about swansea is that they've been consistently punching above their weight over 2 - 3 seasons now. their football has been consistently very good. unlike martinez who was a 7 game wonder.
interesting times. LVG as sporting director with Brendan as the coach. hope the latter is given full support to implement his approach otherwise it'll be a nightmare
I'm not convinced about this at all. For me possession football relies on incisive moves when opportunities present themselves and the winning of the ball in dangerous positions when out of it. Last season we showed ourselves to have all the rapier like incision of a sausage. Both ourselves and Swansea were outscored by Blackburn last season.
Swansea all too often looked to be using possession as an attritional/defensive tool. Which is fine and I think it is a tactic that can work but without refinement is not a way of playing that will excel in a league tournament in my opinion.
I like the idea of what Rodgers (or Martinez while we are on the topic) represent as an aspiration. However, I really don't see it as much different from the way we were going under Kenny and whichever manager was in charge we needed well chosen changes to improve next season.

I understand Gylfi Sigurdsson wont join Swnasea if BR joins LFC. Possibly a move to LFC if BR is appointed as lFC manager
Im hoping that scenario happens
I can't see Swansea letting it happen though. Part of the negotiating will probably hinge on it....although if Gylfi hasn't signed or agreed to sign i suppose they can't do **** if we nab him.
Superb player i might add. Reminds me of Gus Poyet the way he just arrives in the box at the perfect time.
Should also swap Adam for Allen while we're at it

Really would like him think hes a good player
That said I dont think it will happen because besides the points you mentioned hes supposedly a rabid Manc who has gone on public record as "hating LFC"

Solskjaer was a rabid Liverpool fan....look how that turned out
Maybe having Rodgers would sway him over to the dark side
