What a load of drivel, it's been 15 days since Kenny left. FSG are correctly looking into all options for the manager role at the club. In any multi million pound business you go through the due diligence to ensure you're making the right appointment and FSG are just following this process, they need to get this decision right and a shot gun appointment or one based off a hunch could set us back even further.

So much guess work from the hacks out there it's unreal, they know we've met Martinez because of Whealan and his rather large mouth apart from that what else we've done is largely unknown.

There is far to much unneeded criticism of our owners right now just because patience is running low and they manage to keep quiet. I for one is happy we don't have a Whelan in front, and we are doing things behind closed doors now.

Rather we spend the time needed and get the manager that fits the profile and future setup than make a rash decision and appoint a manager just to appease some quickly.

I don't agree with all the decisions made, but I think our owners have shown their determination and decisiveness in all this, and I think we are afterall still going in the right direction.

The owners' time-wasting in the search for Dalglish's replacement means the Reds can finish no better than sixth next season, warns Mark Lawrenson



I know Liverpool’s owners are going about the search for a new manager the American way, but they’ve got it wrong.

I can’t believe they are doing it so publicly. They have basically let everyone know who is on their *short-list and who they want to interview.

They've not said a single ****ing word. Dave Whelan went public, as did Rogers himself. Not much we can do about that really is there Lawro.

I didn’t see West Brom and Aston Villa do that, and leave it to the bookies to compile a short-list of managers for you.

That might be the way they do things in America, but this is England and we do things differently.

Only a total cock would say this. England has nothing to learn, does it.

They must have had misgivings about Kenny Dalglish for some weeks before they sacked him and yet they didn’t line up a replacement.

I know people will say that’s not the correct way to do things, but that’s football.

Again and again, we come back to this. And what if the American owners were caught tapping up another manager behind Kenny's back? Lawro would be banging on about how disrespectful it was and how that might be the way they do it in the states, but over here in England bla bla bla **** off.

Well Rogers said that himself in an interview recently. He was probably lying.

They can see it coming. And usually, they also have a fair idea who’s replacing them.

It’s also disrespectful to the managers involved - you only have to look at Brendan Rodgers’ initial reaction when he refused to take part in the owners’ beauty parade.

Disrespectful to the managers to be invited to apply for the Liverpool job? No one would have known if Rogers was part of the ****ing 'beauty parade' if he hadn't gone public would they.

He cleverly turned the tables on them, effectively saying if they really want him, they can come and speak to him.

Look at Roberto Martinez as well. If he doesn’t get the job and Wigan start the season badly, their fans will think *Liverpool have unsettled him.

While this process goes on, Liverpool are wasting valuable time.

We're not even in June yet! I've heard Parry praised for his swift action in signing up Benitez to replace Houllier, well he didn't actually sign till mid June. We have time. I'd rather they take their time than rush and make the wrong decision.

The club are at a *crossroads and I would argue they are even further off finishing in the top four now than they were at the start of last season.

Agreed. And who's faults that? The owners - who gave Dalglish £110 million to spend, or Dalglish who squandered the money? Have some ****ing balls Lawrenson - not a single line of criticism for Dalglish in this whole article.

The big five of Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham will all strengthen and it’s going to be hard for Liverpool to catch them up.

If anything, they are going backwards, not forwards.

I look at next season and I think the best they can hope to finish is sixth - don’t forget they’re also in the Europa League and playing Thursday-Sunday affects the dynamic of the team.

Looking longer term, they aren’t going to be able to attract the best players if they are not in the Champions League and they are going to have to either decide to build a new stadium or refurbish Anfield – both of which will cost a lot of money.

There is an opportunity now for Liverpool to go out and get the players they feel they need to improve before the Euros and before their rivals have a chance to snap them up.

But instead we have a situation where there is no-one at the club to sign players.

There’s no manager and Damien Comolli, who handled transfer negotiations, has still not been replaced.



I just get the impression that the Americans are trying to run the club from thousands of miles away.

I know that MD Ian Ayre is still there and he is in charge of the day-to-day running of the club.

I know Ian, and he’s seen all the main people he was used to working with on a daily basis go.

Comolli’s gone, Dalglish has gone and Ian Cotton, who was in charge of the press department for years, has gone.

He must be thinking he could be next.

I think since the day Peter Robinson walked out of Liverpool a decade ago, the club has never been the same.

I know people say things are different today from when Peter ran Liverpool so well, but intelligent people adapt and change.

The feeling I get from the Liverpool supporters I speak to is that they are indifferent, and that’s most unusual.

They just want to see it sorted and a new manager appointed soon so the club can try to move forward.

I know he's a former player but this guy really is a total ****. I hate how 'pundits' are allowed to get away with sitting in their ivory towers passing judgement - especially when the **** they say doesn't add up.

If that's directed at me, tough. It's a huge risk and, moving onto our fourth manager in a couple of years, I believe we need stability, not another hit and hope.

Why don't we just appoint Segura as Technical Director and Van Gaal as manager on a two year deal?

Get Van Gaal and Segura to implement the long term vision of the club, on top of having a world class manager in charge and then move Van Gaal upstairs once things are set. He can lay all the groundwork on the pitch and around Melwood which could last for years.

As for where our previous managers came from, it doesn't hold much weight when you look at the circumstances i.e. Shankly onwards up to Benitez.
