My main concern is if we have more pretty football without the finish. We did play some good football with Kenny as well last season but we couldn't finish it off with goals.

I'm also waiting to see what other appointments we make, for me this is a package deal and whether or not I consider Rodgers to be a good appointment depends on the other appointments that go with this one.

Good luck Rodgers, I hope you can earn a place with the other Liverpool greats

Ajax, Barcelona, AZ and Bayern all owe something to van Gaal. If Liverpool do get him above/with Rodgers, he'd be a superb appointment.

Liverpool haven't played good flowing football for a quite some time, the Kenny 'pass and move' was non existent as IMO we just bought the wrong players.

Will be very interesting to see who Rogers goes after, i'm excited but wary. It is a big big gamble by FSG & i really hope they back Rogers & don't see him as a man that can work on a tight budget. If it's a case where FSG are going to give Rogers a small budget .... then IMO we're ****ed. Positions need to be addressed, FSG have made this decision and i hope they back it up with some funds.

FFS lets give Buck a chance, I was the first to be banned for calling Hodgson a deluded ****, but this is different, we have a young manager with the right philosophies about how the game should be played, fluent in Spanish and a scholar of tika taka football with total fooball being played, even the keeper and that will suit Pepe.

Everyone has to start somewhere, he ****ed up at Reading, my guess is the personnel there didnt gel with tika taka and probably came to love FLIF (the bodge's farkin' launch it football).

All this talk about not being able to attract great players, tosh ... We are LFC and there are not that many A list teams to choose from, sure Chelski, Man City, Ole toilet etc plus all the Champions League foreign teams but if LVG comes in as well then all the ducks will be lined up.

So in short we have an anglo saxon lover of tika taka who studies the Dutch way of the 70's, Brazillian football, and attends the National Spanish team training, potentially LVG and the ex Barcelona set up for the acadamies and reserves.

Whats not to be excited about FFS, especially Macedonian chappie who is as negative as a Hicks and Gillett relative.

There won't be any anti-Rodgers campaign ... He will be judged according to his results ... He should be given respectable transfer funds this summer, and if he manages to get us into the Champions League next season, he will be loved and adored by every LFC supporter, including myself ... If he fails to qualify for the Champions League next season, he should be sacked ...

I'm intrigued to see how the ability to attract better calibre of players will improve our tempo with the ball. Swansea are the pass and probe kind of team. Unless the team is confident in passing quickly, they won't. It'll be a learning curve for him and the team.

I'm looking forward to intelligent and controlled football. One of my criticisms last year. In theory, Henderson, Lucas and Suarez should be in their element with him, possibly Downing. We shall see.
He likes players who can get up and down the pitch as well. Not sure Charlie Adam will be a lynchpin in our side........Or Carra for that matter.

His wide players have to have a shed load of pace, or be very creative. I guess someone like Maxi could be saved if he wishes, Kuyt I'm not sure. He plays 433 very well with the Dutch side and aint half got an engine on him. But he's neither fast, nor skillfull.

Players who I think will Thrive under the system:

Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Lucas, Henderson, Suarez.

Of the rest of the players, I think the jurys out on whether it will greatly suit them or not. Carroll is my biggest concern down to his expense. He needs to improve his technique if he's to work in the Rodgers system. Gerrard I think will excel in any team, so I have no fears over him. Skrtel is a rock at the back and decent enough on the ball to do well. Downing I don't know. It could suit him really well like the 433 at Villa.
                            Forwards.......

Above anything he should be given time

More time than they were willing to give Kenny

I dont want them swapping manager in 12 months if it hasnt met with their expectations

The only way we should look at binning Rodgers is if he has us flirting with relegation ala Roy
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I've watched quite a lot of interviews with Rodgers and he has a presence about him. He immediately commands respect almost effortlessly. He appears poised, calm and knows what he wants. He calls his players his friends and he never shies away from taking the blame for the tactics and always credits the players where credit is due. He seems perfect for us. Time will tell though I suppose...
