Welcome BR, im Pleased with this appointment , hope we can now get some stability back to our club now.
We just need to get cracking on with some new sighnings now I'm actually looking forward to the new season for once
Nah. Its a sensible long term appointment. They're all risks to some degree but this is the kind of appointment FSG wanted before we clamoured for kenny. So hopefully us fans don't **** it up by chanting Rafa's name in the first 10 games if results aren't great...
It is a bold appointment by FSG. Lets hope they know what they are doing. I must confess I know very little about Rodgers, and I suppose maybe that is a good thing. I am sure he will do his best to impress us.
Same here really.
The thing that worries me the most is that, in the absence of an appointment of a DoF, I'm kind of unsure as to why FSG went for him ahead of someone experienced. It seems a potentially weak appointment on its own. **** it though - there could be glorious times ahead! At least until we lose our first pre-season friendly 4-0 to Toronto reserves and are dunmped out of the EL by ****in Bray Wanderers.
i havent watched a lot of swansea but i know they outplayed us comprehensively.
alright... lets get behind the new man and hope he does well at anfield. he's ambitious no doubt and he's got some technical and tactical knowledge so at least its a start.
he doesnt have any substantial pedigree but we cant let that get in the way. I really hope he delivers the goods.
A successful season is anything over 65 points (but ideally 70) so for me thats the target for Rodgers and the team.

Welcome Brendan Rodgers! You are now leading my club, so I wish you nothing but success and great football! I hope you have an eye for creative players who can dominate possession and restore us to glory!
Also, happy that I have completely stumbled into a perfect abbreviated user name! Let my personal confusion reign!

Swansea play patient football like Barcelona. Pressing wise, they were high tempo, but passing, it's patient stuff and if you're not keen on the Barcelona/Bilbao model of play, then you're ****ed.
I'm intrigued to see how the ability to attract better calibre of players will improve our tempo with the ball. Swansea are the pass and probe kind of team. Unless the team is confident in passing quickly, they won't. It'll be a learning curve for him and the team.
I'm looking forward to intelligent and controlled football. One of my criticisms last year. In theory, Henderson, Lucas and Suarez should be in their element with him, possibly Downing. We shall see.
Call me crazy ... but his career reminds me a little of the early Rafa years. An average player, starts out coaching underage at a big club, has mixed experiences coaching lower league sides before getting his first real crack at the big time. Rafa went on to win two league titles w/ Valencia. Let's hope Buck does the same here.
