According to our Managing Director, every season without the Champions League money is a failure ... The rules have been set, and should be applied to anyone ... I am willing to fully back up Rodgers as our boss next season, but if he fails to deliver a CL qualifications, he should be gone ...
They didn't believe the were going to change. A lot of money spent on pure ****e.

Van Gaal is the key man - if he's on board and fully engaged/committed to the role then we've an excellent trio in him, Rodgers and Segura covering all the bases on the playing side.

The welcome one is a day too early. Tomorrow, everything will fall into line in Rodgers thread overlap terms.

I am not sure why but I feel sorry for the poor ******* who is going to take over at Swansea!

I'm pretty happy. I think we've appointed the best young manager called Brendan we possibly could have.

here's hoping next time they decide that a young manager named hedgehog is just the thing.

Had we had better finishers in the squad we'd have come higher up. People can argue against that all they like, but sometimes the stats are right.
But we are unlikely to change all those players, we'd lose too much money. Most of those players will still be here next season and Rodgers will need to manage them.

So if they suddenly start playing well are they good signings that needed more time, good signings and Kenny was a bad coach or bad signings that Rodgers is getting more out of than we should?

As I say, I think Kenny had us playing good football but we didn't finish with goals, the number of missed penalties last season was a joke.

Rodgers has Swansea playing good football too but they also didn't score many goals. Do we have better players than Swansea that under performed or just more expensive players?

I like his style but I hope he can adapt it to be more clinical in front of the oppositions goal

In the end its a massive massive gamble, if he fails people will point to his background, his history and ask questions about what he's done to merit this appointment.

If he's working alongside someone like LVG then i'll be comfortable without but otherwise im worried

While I’d have loved to see Benitez get the job, Rodgers is reminiscent of Rafa at the stage when he joined Valencia: no big-club success, with the major achievement no more than promotion to the top flight; but future success determined by a desire to learn from the best, with a willingness to travel and study. Instead of RB, we got BR. (Indeed, Rafa brought Valencia to Anfield and controlled a game, just like Rodgers did with Swansea.)
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
