Hmmmm, doubt that! Why ditch your entire blueprint for the club? Would make zero sense. Possible it won’t be a “DoF” but something similar such as "technical director". Lost in the wording perhaps?

Perhaps, in the process of interviewing candidates, they came to the conclusion that it could not work.

But that would remove one of the main reasons not to speak to Benitez, making it even more ludicrous that he wasn't interviewed for the job!

Bit of a logical fallacy, what other teams do or don't do has nothing to do with whether we were or weren't utilising the ideas behind sabermetrics.

I think there are some reasonable grounds for people suggesting they were applied to our thinking to some extent. The talksport interview Comolli gave, for instance, is in stark contrast to your flat denial of that.

You seem near certain we haven't incorporated sabermetrics, but what real evidence is that based on?

Based on the stats for the players we signed not actually being great.

It is your choice ... Rodgers is a massive gamble, but he could still turn out well with an experienced assistant as Steve Clarke, and with a competent Technical Director as Pep Segura ... If you put Rodgers working under a self-centered ego-maniac like Van Gaal, he is almost certain to fail ...
