Do you think we'll end up giving teams a good Rodgering then?
A lot of opinions have changed on the bloke over the past week. I'm delighted it's him over Martinez. Rodgers has continually sought to learn and with a low budget and improve himself.

As for giving teams a good Rodgering too, I think that may be your sub-conscious "cumming" through there if you know what I mean.

We didn't miss that opportunity at all, he was offered a different role, he turned it down.

Director of football Damien Comolli, who was dismissed last month, won’t be directly replaced. FSG have come to the conclusion that his job, overseeing travel, medical care, scouting, player analysis and recruitment, was too wide-ranging. Instead those duties will be spread out and a number of new roles created.

Internal candidates are also being considered and could lead to more senior positions for highly-respected Academy duo Pep Segura and Rodolfo Borrell.

“The idea is rather than one person being responsible for all the elements Damien’s role took on, we will divide up the responsibilities,” Ayre said. “We will have a slightly different structure so there will be two or three positions within that. Running a big football club is a big challenge. It’s evident we need to focus on each area with a specialist who will deliver value in each area.”

Like I have said, we have missed that opportunity ... You have never heard about convincing people into something, especially if you think that they could contribute to the cause?

So do I. The game I loved has changed so much I hardly recognise it or love it anymore. I only watch games involving us as I cannot bear the 'entertainment' side of it now.

Give me Match of the Day on a Saturday night, odd live games on terrestrial TV, the European Cup (not the ****e that is CL where the upmost is done to get the 'best' teams through), the Cup Winners Cup, the UEFA Cup, the FA Cup, the League Cup and teams that actually win something being rewarded rather than a team finishing fourth (not this year obviously) getting rewarded with a place at the top table and teams finishing 6th ****loads of points behind the team in third getting promoted at their expense because they beat them in an 'entertaining' play-off.

I hate the way football is seen as entertainment rather than a competitive sport and that Arsenal for example are lauded for winning **** all for a good number of years but it's ok because they play 'entertaining' football...

The common interpretation of those quotes was that the role stays, but it is effectively shared by more than one person.

You have taken the opposite view clearly. You do that a lot. And that is fine.

                    Im actually hoping its Rodgers.

Reading his tactical propaganda has changed my opinion of this. I think we're going to see some cracking footy next season. Especially if FSG back him and sign a couple of big names. Im hoping he's changed his mind due to them promising to back him big.

In terms of competitive edge, I just don't see the benefits of fan ownership.

Even for "democratic purposes" I'm against it - especially with the type of busy-body fans that we've got in the likes of Rogan Taylor/SOS etc, where a small vocal minority set the agenda with their at-least-we-get-up-off-our-arses self-important attitude.
I agree that we won't become more competitive just because supporters get a vote, in all honesty it won't change much. We would still be required to take the long pull we are in for now no matter the structure.

The only thing it helps is to keep supporters closer to the club, which I don't see as a bad thing. I think it's a better structure because of the "democratic elements" that is part of many clubs. If everyone have a vote the vocal minority will have little to say anyways.

I like the membership model as said (probably because I'm very much raised in it), but as you say it won't be a miraculous way for us to become succesfull again. But the club and supporters will be better integrated and supporters would get a say in managers in terms of who is proposed by presidential candidates. Anyways that is not something that is going to happen in any forseeable future, so let's just enjoy Rogers.!

Unfortunately, they have managed to corrupt the game to the point of no return ... Personally, I am hoping that the SkySports bubble will burst sooner or later, and that English top division football would return to a normal condition ... After all, the bankruptcy of KirchGruppe has hit the Bundesliga pretty hard back in 2002, but the league and the clubs have recovered well, and are looking better than ever ...
