If Kenny had spent wisely I suspect he'd still be in a job. bad signings cost people their job. I wonder if he lost his job because they wanted to take his power away and Kenny wouldn't have it.Originally posted by topscorer View PostMy main concern is if we have more pretty football without the finish. We did play some good football with Kenny as well last season but we couldn't finish it off with goals.
I'm also waiting to see what other appointments we make, for me this is a package deal and whether or not I consider Rodgers to be a good appointment depends on the other appointments that go with this one.
Good luck Rodgers, I hope you can earn a place with the other Liverpool greats
Had we had better finishers in the squad we'd have come higher up. People can argue against that all they like, but sometimes the stats are right.Forwards.......

Sorry mate, but the precedent has already been set ...Originally posted by Lecter View PostAbove anything he should be given time
More time than they were willing to give Kenny
I dont want them swapping manager in 12 months if it hasnt met with their expectations
The only way we should look at binning Rodgers is if he has us flirting with relegation ala Roy
It was revenue streams which ultimately proved Dalglish’s undoing. Despite winning the Carling Cup and reaching the FA Cup final, the Reds’ failure to finish in the top four in the Premier League meant the club missed out on a potential windfall of around £40million from Champions League qualification.
“It was a very simple decision based on results and did we believe that was going to change,” Ayre said. “To be 37 points off the winner, 17 points off fourth, 14 losses…..
“Winning the FA Cup wouldn’t have made any difference – it was never about an individual result. It was always about taking a review of the season in full.
“The Carling Cup and The FA Cup don’t generate the revenue and the success that is needed to keep investing. If you want to be successful, you have got to keep investing. People don’t want to hear that football is a business. They want to see us put lots of money into the football team and win lots of trophies and games.
“But you have got to have both. You have got to have continued progress in the league. If you don’t do well in the league and you don’t get into the Champions League, you are writing cheques from your own pocket, aren’t you? That is not a sustainable way going forward.
According to our Managing Director, every season without the Champions League money is a failure ... The rules have been set, and should be applied to anyone ... I am willing to fully back up Rodgers as our boss next season, but if he fails to deliver a CL qualifications, he should be gone ...

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Nothing against rodgers, but should have kept kenny for another season and then gone for him. Perhaps they were concerned that when we inevitably did better it would be hard to then part with kenny. Could have waited to see how he handled the second season with bigger expectations. Massive gamble. Could do well mind. I dislike this tippy tappy football, passing for the sake of it. I guess we'll be as frustrating to watch as arsenal, overplaying all the time. Ah well what will be will be.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

That is a very harsh and premature comment. He is only in the door, wouldn't have been my choice but he is here and has a good philosophy on how to play the game & i'm curious to see how he implements his ideas into LFC.Originally posted by Macedonian_Red View PostThere won't be any anti-Rodgers campaign ... He will be judged according to his results ... He should be given respectable transfer funds this summer, and if he manages to get us into the Champions League next season, he will be loved and adored by every LFC supporter, including myself ... If he fails to qualify for the Champions League next season, he should be sacked ...
It is a massive gamble no doubts & could backfire spectacularly , i'm curious to see how much money he gets to spend? & who comes in & who goes out? Then we can see what Rogers has to work with. He should be given adequate time & our full support regardless if we agree with the appointment.
Not the man i wanted either but the best of luck to him, because he is going to need it.

I wouldn't worry. The adult world isn't rule-based like that.Originally posted by Lecter View PostIf thems the rules then FSG / Ayre are even bigger idiots than I give them credit for

RAWK have released their statement
Brendan Rodgers is the new manager of Liverpool.
We at RAWK have always firmly believed that one of the strengths of being a Liverpool supporter is that we support the manager. We welcome him to our club and sincerely hope he understands the culture and history and requirements of one being manager at Liverpool Football Club, one of the major jobs in the world of football.
There may be some fans on here who did not wish for his appointment, perhaps preferring any number of other candidates. Let us make one thing clear: We support our manager. Full stop. If any of you are unable to do that, you will find yourselves looking for another fansite to post on. Liverpool supporters are meant to do things the right way and make no mistake, we will remove persistent whingers, moaners, nostalgists and petty posters from this site without a second thought.
Welcome Brendan, you've a bloody big pair of boots to fill. Good luck and welcome and all the best from us at RAWK
Their own statement. They do take themselves a bit too seriously over there
