I don't now I think its as much to do with the hangover from last season being such a disappointment. Sure cups are nice and winning tropies is better than finishing 4th but I'm bored of hoping other clubs beat United to things to save our blushes.Originally posted by BrooklynRed View PostIs there a way our transfer dealings could restore your enthusiasm? What signals should we send in the market that would get you excited? Serious question.

The reality of the modern game is that CL football is the way to attract the names and earn the cash that pays for them. Seeing how far away we were last season when only a few years ago we were a few uncoverted 0-0's away from being champions was painful. With all the Suarez guff and then the poor results, Chavs winning CL and our manager hunt being the talking point for weeks while the season is over has just completely knocked the win out of my sails.
I hope after a bit of a break from PL football and an exciting Euro 2012 my enthusiasm will return. A fully fit Lucas pulling on the shirt on the opening day of the season would be lovely. A super confident Andy Carroll returning from Ukrain after glowing praise is the press for his performances and a hungry and committed Suarez tearing a few defences apart in August would probably do the trick without any new signings

Having a moustache is the unspoken equivalent of saying you've had sex on camera, what of it? But I agree, danger doesn't get any more fraught than having a bushy crumb catcher.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Postmaybe even a mustache ride. but that's just me. i like a bit of danger.
But anyhoo. All this flirting and you're clearly not a lurker.
Back to the drawing board.

To be honest, FSG must make a serious investment this summer (at least £50 million NET), if they are to justify the sacking of Kenny and the appointment of a young and relatively inexperienced manager ... Otherwise, this entire maneuver will be considered a cost-cutting operation ...Originally posted by BrooklynRed View PostIs there a way our transfer dealings could restore your enthusiasm? I love the way that people like to take that response and ignore the other things I say.
I detest the label and the comparison. How am I negative? I've commented on my opinion of the clubs choices over the last few years which is why we find ourselves in this position which was easily avoidable. I'm sure as hell not the only one with the same or similar concerns.Originally posted by Muddled View PostWe just need to see what Nick77 parps and we'll have got the opinions of the two most negative posters on here, out of the way early doors.
God forbid, I'm concerned that a manager without pedigree or experience is taking over our team one of the biggest clubs in the world, at a very delicate time. When we had Kenny, who had his issues, but was prematurely IMO removed, I expected that there was someone more stable, experienced and had actually won something at this level before. I don't have a problem with Rodgers himself, and I was a fan of his work last season and I'm sure he has a promising future ahead of himself as a football manager, but as we stand this is not the kind of risk that we need be taking. We need stability, someone for the long haul, and judging by the owners lack of hesitancy to get rid of managers, I wouldn't be shocked if things don't fall into place after 2 seasons we see them get another manager in or whatever and we go further towards becoming Newcastle. It scares me that we're giving him the job after only 1 season at this level, and that he's not a CL coach. He's never been part of a club this size as a manager or a player, so it's not like when inexperienced managers whom were big players take on a role and succeed.Originally posted by Harv View Post...Or maybe we're trying to be trend setters and taking a risk on a hugely promising manager with what seems to be a great football philosophy?
I'm not entirely convinced that players from England or abroad will be over the moon with the opportunity to work under Rodgers. We get in a manager with a reputation, combined with the club of our size - there's a project players are excited for an want to be a part of. Now it's very much a risk. It wouldn't have gone a long way to ease the mind of Suarez, Reina etc that they should be sticking around if we don't break into the top 4 again every quickly.

I knew that was a ****ing disaster from day one, at least BR is young, has showed he wants to try to play good football and is only opening his career to a level that he could go on to bigger and better things.Originally posted by Zapater View Post100% behind him though.

i think FSG will be very careful about investment in players this summer. Clearly one of the positive parts of Rodgers would have been how he has got so much out of a low calibre of player when at Swansea. They will be hoping he can have a similar effect on the team we have now without spending too much more money. I think they will be cautious with their money, sit back and see how Rodgers does early doors and gradually increase his budget if he requires it.
