Thanjk you.

So what part of Harv's post was unfair then? You were saying "****ing Rodgers" and and that we were becoming small time - all he pointed out was it could equally be seen as progressive. I don't think that's an unreasonable response really.
Fair enough, but I'm not the first one in this thread to say "****ing Rodgers" at some point. Alas it's the only time it seems to provoke a response. The small time business was in relation to the managements decision making. Can you imagine any other team of our size giving an inexperienced manager who wasn't an icon at their club (i.e. Guardiola) a job like this? 1 season ago no one would consider him a candidate, now he's getting the job, as I say, it was a very good season, but football relies on continuity and this is a massive risk, that to be honest we don't need.
I didn't say it wasn't a progressive decision, I was indicating it perhaps isn't the wisest.
i think FSG will be very careful about investment in players this summer. Clearly one of the positive parts of Rodgers would have been how he has got so much out of a low calibre of player when at Swansea. They will be hoping he can have a similar effect on the team we have now without spending too much more money. I think they will be cautious with their money, sit back and see how Rodgers does early doors and gradually increase his budget if he requires it.
Rodgers wasn't my preferred choice, that was Rafa.
I am, however delighted that we have appointed a young, progressive, ambitious manager.
What we now need to do is allow him every day of his contract to enable him to impart his philosophy into the club.
Personally I'd give him 2 years to get everything straight with a top 4 challenge expected in his 3rd season.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
So, out of curiosity, does anyone know what the Mancs/Toffees etc are saying on their internet forums? Are they all laughing their heads off that Rodgers is the 'best we could get' or are they nervous that we've made a shrewd recruitment?

Whenever I hear from Mancs or Bitters about what they think about LFC, I am reminded of the great American philosopher Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson...

Pretty happy with the appointment of BR if it all goes through and look forward to seeing what he can do with us. Best of luck to him, now we got that out of the way we can go back to speculating about transfers

I'm really concerned now that it seems there'll be no DoF (reports that Rodgers don't want to work with Van Gaal). He's so inexperienced at this level that it all can go pear shaped in an instant. Fully agree with Zapater. I like Rodgers' philosophy and I'll get behind him but I have that feeling that we're going down rather than up. It'll be hard to instill the level of confidence required to give him a great start.
Out of interest, how exactly could it "all go pear shaped in an instant"? I think that's slight hyperbole there Fredo. The danger imo with someone like Rodgers is that we don't start well next season, sections of the fanbase & the media won't want to give him proper time. I'd like to think LFC fans are above expecting instant success, but lets face it, a lot of us aren't any more than any other fans. However, I still do expect it to take a bit longer than "an instant" for it to go sour.
