    Was on SSN just now.

Clarke is on holiday and remains at the club. Situation could change when he gets back or when new manager is installed.

Id like him to stay, he seems to have worked wonders with Agger and Skrtel
      *Except Michael, who died.

Supposed to have stayed behind to watch the Red Sox game as he was heading over to Miami anyway with his wife.

Interesting to see what those at Stamford Bridge do now. They're damp for him them lot. He could stay if we get Villas Boas though.

Ian Ayre on Steve Clarke: "Steve's still at the club. There's no change there. Steve's on holiday."
So the "never wrong" BBC - aka Bull****ter Ben - were completely wrong! In fairness he will have copied it off Tony B who was the first with this one I think. Rare blunder from Tone!

Seemed to me like the majority of people thought Kenny wasn't doing as well as he should have this season and was at least partially responsible for some pretty poor transfer market activity. While its sad to see him go, its hardly a real shock either. Everyone else who has been gotten rid of there were concerns about too. And Clarke, well, if he's resigned there wasn't much they would or could do, plus you'd expect a new manager to want to bring in his own team.

While we can have legitimate concerns about the future we have at least gotten on the case with making these changes swiftly, and it rather puts paid to thoughts that FSG would struggle making hard decisions. If anything they've shown they can be decisive and that they expect results, hardly a bad thing with owners imo.

Because there was a noticeable improvement in our defence just weeks after he came in and almost every player when interviewed last year found reason to mention him and sing his praises regardless of what they were being interviewed for. Because our defence this year under his guidance was our strongest position with Sktrel looking twice the player he was, Agger and Johnson playing well and Enrique sound defensively at least. Because any manager or club he worked for spoke very highly of him and he’s well regarded as a top coach whom many expected (expect) to make the step up to permanent full time management.

And so you are saying that you wanted Kenny to stay but Clarke out? What was Clarke's role in our demise then that you are excusing Kenny for?

Clarke has definitely had an influence in terms of our defensive play, although I hope there are alterations to that with a new manager.

Under Mourinho, Chelsea were credited heavily with the conservation of energy, setting up a defensive shape and absorbing pressure rather than pressing. That has been largely accredited to Clarke, with some of Mourinho's influence chipped in.

We've seen that with us in the season just gone. Although I think that only works when you have a world class team. When you don't, you need to press and force the issue.
It should be a combination of both.

I'd like Clarke to stay, but we shall see.

Sky were right for once then !

Can read a couple things into it, but I sure hope its not a case of someone left in situ if there is a prolonged period without a permanent appointment.
Say, up to planning for preseason training.

Needs to be sorted out before/during the Euros IMO, although I would ideally like a proper MD/CEO in place to be forefront in any negotiations...........chances of that happening (and a subsequent managerial decision) before then are remote.
Can see it now.......Clarke still in temporary charge by the time the US tour happens

I think it is anyway. I don't know why, it just seems better if/that he stays, whoever takes over as manager.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I am absolutely stumped at the hostility towards FSG and the twitter attacks on Henry and Linda. Well their record in the US shows that they are no G&H. They are decisive and innovative owners. They may get their decisions wrong but every decision they take is taken with the intention of making all of their "franchises' successful.

Sentimentalism and hanging on to the past has been a big weight for this club for the last two decades. What FSG is trying to do is make our club modern in every sense of the word. Will all of their decisions be correct , of course not. Will they succeed, I am not sure. But we should give them time to implement their strategy.

We as fans desperately want the club to operate the way we did in the 70's and 80's. One of the main reasons why we were so successful is that we were a constantly evolving club in every aspect who always looked to the future and made decisions based on that. Remember we were the club who told our biggest icon, Shankly to stay away as it interfered with the training. Imagine if we had twitter and internet forums when that occured. We took some bold innovative and counter intuitive decision which when succeeded changed the landscape. That ended with Moores taking over and we started looking to the past rather than the future.

It is still too early to criticize or praise John Henry and Tom Werner's judgement. But I really do admire their guts.

This is interesting. He is either a candidate for the job or the incoming manger will have to work with him. The plot thickens

It's perfectly clear that the only reason they rejected his offer of resignation is because they want to sack him. The ****ers are addicted.
