AVB for me. I believe we can succeed under his system if we sign a CAM & get cover for Lucas. I also feel he is a name that could bring some attractive continental footballers into our side and I love the idea of us playing flowing, technically gifted football. But as I said above, I think we need a David Silva/ Luka Modric type in the team to partner Lucas. Maybe Hendo can grow into that role, but he is not ready. Great analysis of his tactics here:

AVB failed with a largish club within the EPL, he will fail with Liverpool. Sorry no confidence in the man.

who do yo want to be the next manager...
                  or...
who do yo think will actually end up being the next manager...

the answer for me depends on who comes in as DoF. if van gaal takes DoF then the manager will be martinez.

avb... only ever managed for ONE SEASON... [prior to the chavs] would you want a one season wonder manage our team

Or just arrange the Poll correctly in the first place, so it doesn't allow thick people to still vote for Rafa..

AVB failed because the players didn't want to adapt to his methods and staged a very public revolt.

Our team doesn't have anywhere near as many dickheads as Chelsea does.

I don't think he failed. He had Torres in the worst form of his life, Lampard unable to play his style of football, Drogba insulted that Torres was being picked ahead of him, Terry being Terry, and an owner who likes to pick the team each week.

If AVB can get Gerrard ticking again and put Suarez in his Ajax role with Carroll up top, allow Agger to play from the back, and have Lucas driving the bus with a new CAM (Aquilani/Henderson/ BUY JAVI MARTINEZ) spraying the ball around, we could be buzzing.

do you think winning the Europa League and going undefeated at Porto was a hoax? Or could it be other conditions at Chelsea that prevented a repeat of his Porto performance? What is the fixation on "english clubs" as if they were homogenous? I would love to see someone come in and getting the team playing technically sound, patient football.

As long as the fans don't play.

I'd rather we had owners that listened to the right people and were willing to choose the obvious best choice as manager.

I still went with the intent of this poll and voted for Ancelotti, though he's probably even less likely than Rafa. These are the only ones that we seem to have any real shot at:

                                Andre Villas-Boas
                                Roberto Martinez
                                Louis van Gaal
                                Brendan Rodgers

AVB, Martinez, and Rodgers really don't have the experience to be managing Liverpool. van Gaal has at least managed at the level we're hoping to achieve.
