Rush seemed to do a good job in 2003 and it’s surprising that Kenny didn’t consider bringing him back (or maybe he did). In saying that, he was on the American tour, so does he have a role at the club?

Considering our forwards are expected to defend from the front and obviously finish off chances, on paper you’d think Rush would be a great candidate to pass on his expertise.

IIRC we were struggling badly in front of goal when Houllier brought in and whether coincidence or not he seemed to have an immediate impact.

Second half last night we were awesome.

Pelosi really impressed me in the middle, is he a natural CM? I thought he was a forward.

Pacheco i'd rather see play than Suso out wide, is a lot more direct on the ball and has been playing well recently.

Mclaughlin is the only defender who stands any chance at all of making it to the first team.

Ngoo keeps improving too, ran Wolves ragged last night

Well, considering we have had Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson and Wisdom involved now I don't think we can complain too much

Sokolik has impressed me this year, although I can honestly say I'd never noticed or heard of him before this season.

Sama also looks a lot better without Wisdom beside him, although maybe that's because he's taking on more responsibility in his absence.

Wolves looked decent first half and had Hennessey in nets who is a good keeper. Our lads were just brilliant in the second half though and the subs had a big impact.

Pacheco, Ngoo and Texeria were brilliant up top and Ibe looked very dangerous when he came on.

Just checked, Wolves would have went joint top with a win so can't be that bad.

So basically we haven't played City yet.

I can understand why other people rate him as he’s quite a tidy player and has recently added goals to his game, but personally I’ve never seen enough to suggest he might progress to the first team, well at least here. IMO one of the problems is he is a bit of a luxury player and would be very hard to shoehorn into the first team. He plays the ‘Gerrard’ role, just off the striker in the 4231 for the reserves and that suits him, but there is no such role for the first team. I’m not sure he has the strength or athleticism to play in a deeper role and he’d be even less suitable in a wide forward position than Suso. He’s a good player at this level as I say, but he’s just never stood out enough for me to think that we could do with him in the first team.

Perhaps I’m not the best judge though, as although I like to watch as many reserve games as possible, they usually don’t get my full attention as I’m usually online or doing something else at the time. A lot of his best work is probably going unnoticed by me as he likes to keep things simple and that doesn’t get the same reaction from the crowd or commentators to grab you attention.

Plus it’s hard to pay attention to him when big Ngoo is strutting his stuff.

Personally imo Teixeira, Pelosi and Roddan have more chance to get first team football than Adorjan.

Not convinced by him, looks like another Steve Irwin - good for reserves but could never make the step up.

Saying that, i think he's better than Coady.
