Well it's not even confirmed yet, and I suspect he hasn't done a medical. No chance he'll play on Sunday.

Downing at leftback was something I suggested we might try last season. Perhaps rightly, Lecter suggested he wasn't brave enough for the position. I still think it is a position that might suit him in the right system though.

I think we're going to play well but be unlucky and get mullered on the counter-attack. It's so important we score first otherwise we're ****ed.

I don't actually think it is a bad call. Coates is very inconsistent, even within games. I think Rodgers style will help him and he'll over take Carragher over the season. At this stage though I think experience is a help and if we play Allen and Lucas deep then there shouldn't be too much danger of him being exposed.

I'm not really certain either way. I'd back the manager to have a better insight than me (in this case ). I just think that Carragher isn't the complete disaster that some like to portray him at the minute.
