We lack experienced players I posted this in another thread but we only have 12 outfield players over the age of 22, of those a couple don't have experience of the league (Sahin and Assaidi) and two more are unlikely to start regularly (Carragher and Cole)

What happened to that Mexican dude, Marco Antonio Bueno? Wasn't it announced officially that we're signing him after he turns 18 (which was a few months ago)? No word from the club on this.

So weak in attack. We'd better hope Assaidi turns out to be **** hot.

Fine with the defence though it's got it's faults with Carra past his best and lack of LB cover, love our midfield, attacking wise we are very short on quality. We are relying on a 17 year old, someone who's not long turned 21 and barely started his career and someone signed for 2.5m aswell as Suarez (who's only 3 yellow cards from a ban). Two other good options could have given the squad a very nice look.

Yep left back's a real problem too. Looks like Rodgers may not trust/rate Enrique. Downing playing there at the moment, no cover bar a 17 year old.

Sterling looks like he'll be playing a load of games. Not really ideal.

Why does the transfer window always have to "slam shut"? Only an idiot slams a window repeatedly, sooner or later its going to smash.

Fwiw our squad is looking pretty light considering we're in the Europa league, but on the other hand its really pretty free of chaff and there's a lot of players there I want to see play. We really are going to be putting a lot of faith in some of the (home grown) youngsters; people like Robinson, Morgan, Suso etc should get games and I find that quite refreshing / interesting. Plus if we can keep most people fit our actual first XI is really quite good.

We've been lacking a reliable goalscorer since Torres went ****. Our League positions have reflected this as we've struggled to match the other 'top' teams with goals. A goalsorer should have been one of the main priorities for Rogers, he decided to spend his pennies elsewhere.
I think we're going to struggle again this season.
                  We come not to play.

The left back issue isn't that much of a problem IMO, we can put Johnson there and Kelly at RB if need be, which isn't ideal but is an option. Essentially we have 2 full backs from a three of Johnson, Enrique and Kelly, we then have Flanagan and Robinson as young back ups. Another experienced full back would be nice but I think we're ok. If we had a major injury crisis we have Downing who could fill in at left back and Henderson or Gerrard who could fill in at right back if needed.

With the strikers we really have no options.

                      Agree with most of that.

We've done a great job in shifting deadwood, not got a lot of cash in for them but Cole aside we've managed to trim the wage bill massively. The mistakes in the last few windows has cost us dearly unfortunately . We've managed a fairly decent net spend this window for a non CL team but we're definitely a bit short up top.

To think if we'd managed to get even 12million for Carroll we could have tried to get Llorente for 17million or so. Hopefully we'll move for him in January when his price has come down a bit.

we haven't had a proper striker since Torres. We need someone who can score goals otherwise we won't win many games. This has been an obvious problem for 18 months and yet we still don't have a proper striker.

It's far from ideal for me. Kelly isn't working out at the moment and we need Johnson in his best position. It weakens us at right back and left back. If Enrique can get back in the team, get back to some sort of form and stay fit, we'll be alright. Otherwise we're struggling. I imagine we'll be in for a left back in January.

And a striker. Again. But we won't get one. Again.
