Nah, I don't see that one.

Morgan and Pacheco will be the only back up for Suarez and Borini. That's light.... very light, although in this 4-3-3 system it is possible we can consistently play with only one real striker. We really are going to need to see some goals from the midfield though if that's to work, oh but we could so do with a 5 years younger Gerrard there.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
      Mine angry and defrauded young?

It promises to be a good game tomorrow then, we find it hard to score, and they cant score.

Maybe worth a punt for the nil nil.

i can see us dropping gerrard into the mid field so we can play suarez, borini [not convinced, yet] and sterling, or assaidi, suarez and sterling in a front three. we need all the front line to have a share of goals.
probably set up with sahin left side, gerrard right side, allen in the middle/sitting.

we need to go at teams, really go for goals. lucas is out, so allen will sit in front of a back four, although the two wide men will be let loose to run the wing.

this means when we are attacking we have a front five, supported by the two full backs.

we need goals. i think this is our best option.

          assaidi ----- suarez ----- sterling

          ----- sahin ------- gerrard -----

          ------------ allen --------------

          enrique---agger --- skrtel --- johnson

          ------------- reina ---------------
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

            2005–2006 Nacional 27 (10)
            2006–2007 Groningen 29 (10)
            2007–2011 Ajax 110 (81)
            2011– Liverpool 46 (16)
            National team‡
            2007- Uruguay 54 (28)

I think last season was an aberration for Suarez and the focus on crossing did not help his style. I know his shot conversion was low but to use a cliché I'd be more worried if he wasn't making the chances.

Rogers has put a lot of faith in Suarez, playing him central opposed to last season and I believe he will finish this season's top goal scorer. Like most goalscorers confidence is a huge thing and once he gets on a run the goals will flow.

BTW it's two goals in two games now, the run has started.

2 goals in 2 games, he should at least double that. For me Suarez is too wasteful, in tight games that all important goal conversion is going to be the key.

The other thing though is apart from Suarez where else are the goals going to come from?
Not one of the attackers has 10 goals in them, and without goals we're going to struggle.
              We come not to play.

How's our squad compared to say Spurs?
                Are we winning?

We strengthened our first XI, but weakened our squad.

That's the only thing I think of when looking at it on paper.

No worries. We'll just play the Spain way with no recognised strikers!

We've gambled with young players, only come the season will we know if the gamble paid off.

                        Aye.

The thing is that we were just 2 good players short on really contending this year.

                        Shame.

i think lfc made same mistake as previous years. sell/loan out more players than buy. lfc will lack quality again too.

How can you write off the season before it has even begun?

Yep, and Rodgers sounded as though he ideally wanted two, but one wouldn't be the end of the world. We have no one. Looking at the squad again, it's a lot thinner than I previously thought.

We have two strikers, one bought and then played on the wing. We signed a youngster who by the sounds of Rodgers, wasn't considered as one of the two he wanted to make up the numbers, but as a youngster for the future.

We've got Henderson on the books who'll probably be majorly pissed off at being offered to Fulham permanently. Lucas is out for three months and Joe Cole sitting on his arse with those wages is embarrassing. Add that Downing may well be a convered left back and that removes an attacking player from our ranks.

It'll be incredible if we can get by without injuries AND some youngsters can step up, but we shouldn't be in that situation in the first place.

Ye does feel that way. Wasn't confident at the start of the season, but .......feel worse about the coming season now. Long season ahead I feel.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.
