Thankfully Sterlings development has meant our position is better than what it would have been. If Morgan could step up we'd be fine.

It's just a shame we are having to rely on players not quite ready yet.

What I will say is that Rodgers must get his priorities right. Any away days in the Europa should see all important players rested.

I wanted us to have a real go at winning the Europa, but for now we'll have to treat it with disdain.
    Forwards.......

For me the problem is that Borini is also still very inexperienced, he has about 18 months first team football experience and none of it in the Premiership. If Suarez gets injured or suspended it is alot of pressure on him.

I'm all up for giving the kids a go BUT anyone that watched the reserves or youngsters will know there is no one coming through who can make an immediate impact on the forward position- Morgan who scores regularly at these levels is clearly not ready (he's certainly no Fowler or Owen).
We have some very good youngsters, most though are positions where we are already strong (midfield and defence).
Maybe we'll get to see the giraffe?

            We come not to play.

Gerrard needs to get his act together. I've been disappointed with him last season and so far this season. He shows glimpses of his usual self but he's not 100%.

He's getting on a bit which might be the issue with him.
                Are we winning?

It was only Hearts, and his passing was a bit off at times, but on Thursday night I thought he looked more dynamic than he has for quite a while. Hopefully he can click with Allen and Sahin, I'd love to think he's got one storming season left in him.

Calming down once the window has closed and probably looking to get shot down for his but......I know we are (potentially) short on strikers, but why not do something similar to efc if required, they managed to turn Cahill into a striker when needed? hell stick Johnson up front, he seems to know we're the goal is

Why not look a changing a players position or two when required eg Downing into left back, are we saying we don't have any mid-fielders we can push forward? Can't do much worse than last season.

Sh*t happens, will just carry on and see how BR sorts it all out

Gerrard could definitely do the false nine thing.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I thought he did well against City.

I feel that with both Gerrard and Suarez if the game is not going our way they try too much, dropping too deep, losing their tactical discipline which actually ends up being to the detriment of the team.

For the majority of last season our midfield was made up of Spearing, Henderson, Adam and Downing. Whilst we showed top four form when Lucas was fit; once he was injured our midfield did not have the necessary control to bring out the best of Gerrard and Suarez.

Although we are short of forward options I am hoping that the improved personnel in midfield will allow us to control games, freeing both Gerrard and Suarez to play their natural games.

would be made easier if Lucas was fit, I guess if he was to play there then probably Allen holding with Sahin and Shelvey as the 3 in midfield
