What a cunt that senior police officer was, shows the disdain senior ranks of South Yorkshire Police had for us. Hope they get what they truly deserveOriginally posted by meffin View Posthttp://hillsborough.independent.gov....0014420001.pdf
Trevor Hicks' original statement. Absolutely heart breaking read

Bettison:
He did besmirch the fans. It's exactly what he did, and he did it again yesterday. My role was never to besmirch the fans. I did not do that.
I am deeply sorry that impression and slight has lingered for 23 years.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Just been down to Anfield to lay some flowers. There were plenty of people there ad a wedding party as well. Loads of flowers but there was one message that stood out and it reads "RIP the 96. A lucky one". Sent a shiver down my spine. There is also a Derby County shirt there which reads never give up justice for the 96 and a leeds flag saying "Finally the truth is out"

I always describe myself as a lucky one too. I was just talking about it with a close friend and colleague and saying how/why did those police officers choose my outstretched hand out of the thousands of fans who were crying for help that afternoon? They pulled me through Gate C onto the pitch and saved my life but the question I have asked myself every single day for over 23 years is "why me?"Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostJust been down to Anfield to lay some flowers. Pure luck mate. Life is so random there are no answers for questions like that truth be told.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostI always describe myself as a lucky one too. I don't think this has been posted yet
Brighton and Hove Albion FC are to stage a moment of reflection for Hillsborough before Friday night's home clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Seagulls manager Gus Poyet and chief executive Paul Barber have also posted messages in their official matchday programme.
Poyet said: "Ahead of kick-off, we will take a moment of reflection in light of the Hillsborough report published earlier this week. I was not in England at the time, but it was still a tragedy which touched the entire football world. At last the families of those who died and the people of Liverpool have some closure and tonight we will have the opportunity to reach out and show our respect to the 96."
Barber added: "Finally, on a more sombre but very important note, as football fans we welcomed this week's news of the outcome of the Hillsborough report. It will finally give some closure and peace to the many families affected by the tragic events of that April afternoon in 1989. Tonight we will have an opportunity for a moment of quiet reflection."
