Sunderland has always been an awkward place to go. A point isn't so bad. Just wish we had 0809 Torres playing for us, we would have won with him today.

First of all I think we were pretty unlucky. Hit the woodwork twice, and a decent penalty shout turned down. They had what, 1 decent chance? That's all it seems to take to score against us these days.
This was an extremely frustrating game as our lack of firepower was exposed again. I like Borini a lot, and I think he'll come good. But he's just not doing enough when we're in possession. He could have really done with a goal tonight. I'd also like to see Gerrard make a few more surging runs. Our play was all too predictable at times - breaking forward used to be one of his biggest strengths, but he doesn't seem to do it anymore. I really hope we get to see Assaidi soon. Downing was pretty gash again when he came on.
This is going to be a frustrating season, as I reckon we'll see plenty more games like this

For the first time in a while I wasn't too concerned when it was 1-0 at half time.. I buy into what Rodgers wants to do, we have a very thin squad but he's made some big decisions already.
We dominated the game, it was a little stop start from us in terms of how we played but I suppose that is to be expected at this stage into a new regime.
Downing came on and showed he offers more than Borini does IMO and I fully expect him to start the next game now.
Sterling.. WOW.. 17 and playing well beyond his years. Intelligent and surprisingly gets involved physically. BRING ON THE MANCSVive la France

There were a few people in the match thread saying we should sell him! Seriously, I just can't get over how fickle fans are these days. It's terrible.Originally posted by Assassin View PostThats 7 goals in the last 11 PL games for Suarez
If we were to get rid of each player in the squad starting with least important first, Suarez would be one of the last to go. And if he did go, Barca, Real or Inter would snap him up in an instant. But he's not good enough for us

Sterling, Shelvey, Allen are pretty much first picks for the first 11 now. That is a positive, not a damning inditement of our squad. They are good enough. What we really lack is the ability of our established internationals to step up and do what they have done for years. That is a whole lot bettet than if the old guard were doing their bit but the youngsters were ****. Reasons to be positive.Last edited by Kenneth; 15-09-12, 07:41 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

No way was it a yellow card Fair eough if you don't want to give those a pen but there was a clear trip.
