Just thinking about it, that comment DBF made about Ronaldo going down more cos he is soooo fast is utter ****e. You only have to watch a Rugby Union game to see what it take to bring down a guy running full speed, and it ain't a gentle pat on the arse. You can get a guy going over with a good swipe on the ankles but other than that it takes a considerable amount of force to dislodge a running human.

I absolutely despair at the fact it has become accepted in the game and even among fans that "contact" is all that's required for a penalty to be given. What has this game become? Touching someone, putting your hand on someone's back, whatever, is not a foul. It is a contact sport. There was no foul by Johnson, none at all. Valencia dived, he cheated. He splayed his legs outwards in attempt to con the referee into thinking he'd somehow been fouled. And it worked.

The game had to move forwards from what it was 20-30 years ago. But it's gone too far the other way now. It's embarrassing.

Just read that article. Over 500 comments already. Just confirms that Suarez is enemy number one in English football. Ferguson has done a right job on him. Many people forget that Ferguson labelled him a diver after the Evra incident game, first few games against Utd Suarez destroyd them so Ferguson went after him and boy did he get him good.

Loads of comments below that article have been removed/under moderation and there's a few comments suggesting there's been quite a few Hillsborough references. One new one i saw quoted the 'Always the victims' song

Can anyone actually show me, or point out, an incident where Suarez has actually dived playing for us?

He's good at winning fouls ie drawing the other player into making a challenge by spinning him or playing the ball really close to him but i cant remember one clear dive? Anybody?

The commentators didn't help the situation though.

With the Suarez penalty incident, they instantly claimed "Blatant dive from Suarez", yet when the reply showed there'd been contact they didn't even backtrack by saying "He doesn't help himself by the way he went down." I agree to an extent, but there was a clear foul and it was a penalty.

I think it is the flourishes Suarez adds when he is fowled that don't do him any favours with the refs. He needs to learn to go down realistically like the Man U guys do when if they dive.

I can't think of any pure dive. He makes a meal out of actual fouls, which is annoying reall. But I genuinely can't think of a single actual dive he's taken - and by that I mean clear dives like Welbeck, Phil Jones last season, Rooney etc take time after time.
