I suspect that more often that if you looked for the Welbeck etc cases you could find an angle that would allow a person with a favourable mindset (or occasionally a fair/open one) to vindicate their tumbles. The fact is that Suarez like many other players makes too much of contact. The problem lies in the inconsistent reaction to this and the fact there is no coherent way in which players and referees are held to account for their mistakes in these situations."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Welbeck has taken two clear dives in the last week or so where there has been no evidence of any foul whatsoever, he has chosen to hurl himself to the floor. Likewise Jones's dive at Villa last season. He chucked himself to the floor with no-one near him. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Amazingly there's no internet footage of Phil Jones's dive of the century. Remarkable. Does Ferguson have someone monitoring the ****ing internet for him too?
Jones wins a free kick with one of the most ludicrous dives you'll see for a whileThanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I agree with almost all of that. The only bit i'd disagree with is the statement in bold.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI'm a decent person and I've never really thought that about anyone, but I don't know him, I don't care for him, in fact I actively hate him. His disgusting influence is all over football in this country, he has a big hand in running it, he knows it, we all know it, so the game I've always loved will improve tenfold when he's out of the picture. Hopefully it won't be long. I know there'll be people who think that's disgraceful but I'll live with that. Hurry up, Ferguson.

In my list of United divers I forgot to mention Nani and Hernandez! That's half their team are proven divers, yet you've got hypocritical pricks like Ferguson and Ferdinand going round getting all sanctimonious about it. In fact just two weeks before Phil Jones's Dive of the Century, he'd given an interview so inflammatory - about Charlie Adam's so-called dive against them at Anfield - that even MUTV deemed it too inflammatory for broadcast. Hypocritical, cheating cunts. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I was quite surprised to see Ryan Giggs there, but then I remembered he had ****ed his brothers wife
meaning diving to win a pen shouldn't really provide his conscience with any issues at all
They are all really, really bad and blatant dives. They must definitely practice the one where you knock the ball past the keeper and go down, and they are all really good at it.Modifying post.

A lot of those "dives" had contact even if only slight
The question becomes who instigated the contact and its clear that the forwards are dangling / leaving their foot in in the hope of getting contact
I really hate ****ing modern day football at times when I see this sort of stuffBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

For me that's every bit as bad as doing what Phil Jones does and hurling yourself to the floor when there's no-one near you. It's pure cheating but very hard to police in a fast-paced game.Originally posted by Lecter View PostA lot of those "dives" had contact even if only slight

All this bull**** cheating has been brought into even sharper focus since we saw such pure sport as we saw at the Olympics. Even other sport I've watched since...like Murray winning the US Open, bar the odd bad line call (which can be challenged), it is a true, pure and honest contest, and truly the best player wins.
I know everyone's on this bandwagon and it's become a bit of a cliché already, but football and all the ****in cheating sickens me.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

This feeling has been building up in me for a few years, and I agree - the Olympics and Murray really highlighted it all.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostFor me that's every bit as bad as doing what Phil Jones does and hurling yourself to the floor when there's no-one near you. I just don't see why we don't have some sort of challenge system in football. The same as Tennis and Cricket. Say three challenges the manager can make per match which go to Video ref. Then it is the Video refs call, and even if you disagree in the slightly debatable ones you just have to live with it (ths is how it happens with tries in Rugby, some are impossible to call, but the teams live with the video refs decision). Any instance where the forwards leg is left in should not be a pen, it is cheating every time.
How ****ing hard would that be to implement? Not hard at all
It would certainly discourage the diving, imagine having a dive like Youngs highlighted on a big screen during the game. He'd look a complete ****.Modifying post.

I was saying the same to a mate only last weekend. I don't see any good reason why the 'challenge' system can't be introduced in football. I've seen the odd counter argument - and the same applies to goal-line technology - that it's not possible because they want football to be the same from grass roots level right to the very top. WTF? Why? Other sports don't concern themselves with that crap and professional football is already different to grass roots with things like officials being in contact with earpieces, fourth officials, the extra officials in European games etc.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostThis feeling has been building up in me for a few years, and I agree - the Olympics and Murray really highlighted it all.
