One other thing to say about the Man Utd game relates to our relationship with referees. Everyone says about Man Utd getting decisions in their favour, I think part of the reason is that their players are always chatting to the referee, I don't just mean complaining about the decisions that go against them, they appeal for decisions in their favour en masse, and they have players who are constantly in the referees ear all match. You'd like to think that this doesn't influence the referee and the decisions he makes but if you have a Man Utd player down on the floor an five other Man Utd players wanting the player who committed the foul sent off you imagine it must have some effect and the decisions they get seem to back this idea up.
This is something that we don't do at all, we have the odd player who will complain about decisions that go against them Gerrard when he's fouled or Suarez when things go against him, but they rarely do it when other players are involved. Compare this to Man Utd, for years the likes of Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Keane etc have all been backing one another up when complaining to the referee or have all been having word with him thoroughout games. It's not really something that I like, but it's part of the game, and it's a part of the game that we don't seem to play.
