well I think it's mainly because he didn't want to go anywhere else, he was happy to be at home. The way he sees it now he's got a 4 yr contract till he's 30 maybe a 1 or 2 year extension after that and he can go back home then.

To be world class, you have to be amongst the best players in the world in your position. In our squad I'd say only Gerrard is world class. Its a big difference being a very good player and a world class player. Some of our young players have the ability to become world class, Alonso, Reina, Agger, but not many make it to the ablolute top.

Stevie G is an exceptional player but he's not world class

The better way would be who would get in a world 11 at the moment. Only SG, Henry, Rooney, Terry, and Cech from the PL.

I pretty much agree with this but would have Gallas in, just think the amount of times he saved Chelsea at the back was too many and Arsenal defensive record overall inproved once he joined.

But lets not forget we're talking world 11 not just a prem 11, I'm sure a la liga or serie A follower would disagree. with some of these picks.
