Surprisingly 10 of those shots were inside the box. Just shows how deep Stoke defenders were playing. Seriously credit has to be given to Stoke, they are hard to break down. People seem to ignore this and say how bad we are at finishing chances. Plenty teams can only come away with a point against Stoke.

Dunno mate, I usually have some crazy Arabic commentator. It's mentioned here sometimes, and I don't really listen to/read much else.

Not a chance that ball was intended to end up near side of the defender. Of all his passes that was the best idea but Johnson turned the pass into what it was IMO. Gerrard tried to hit a long ball so many times, its not working for him or us yet it continues to happen.

Apart from Arsenal earlier this year, decent teams score against stoke. Us Swansea and Norwich are the only teams not to in the league in 2012.

It was a fantastic pass. Intended it all the way. If you watch it again you'll see the backlift he's put in. It was a piece of genius.

They really do need to get our house in order. Ayre runs the club and that is wrong IMO. We need a CEO who knows football and Henry and co need to get this FFP **** out of their heads and UEFA are just chatting **** about that.

FFP is going to make zero difference.

Yeah Gerrard meant that. Although was poor today.

Needs to quit England, although im sure its the style Gerrard can't deal with.

I'll watch it again later mate but at the time I was certain he intended it to get Johnson in behind the defender. I thought Johnson read the pass wouldn't make it that side and cut his run inside the defender.

Either way 1 good pass from countless attempts still isn't really good enough. So many crossed just chipped into the keepers arms when any ball in would have to be pin point with only Suarez in there marked by Huth and Shawcross. Not the right idea at all.

He needs to play further up the pitch. Lucas and Allen sitting behind him. Choice between him and Sahin, as you said in another thread. We need another defensive midfielder.

Tell you what...........looks like there's gonna be no happy ending for the end of the Being Liverpool doc, given that it'll encapsulate the opening few games

No heroic wins etc etc........Clive Owen will close the narration with "it's the worst start since nineteen o-splash.........the end"

He lost the ball 36 times. Some players don't touch the ball 36 times the whole match. That's terrible.

The agenda being people who disapprove of diving presumably. People need to get over their paranoid and partisan instincts and just accept that he deserves to be mocked and vilified for it. It was ridiculous. The agenda involved in calling a spade does not need to be sinister.

Not saying he was good but it's unfair to criticise him. Thing with Gerrard is that he can change a game anytime. He tries things that other players won't. His current predicament reminds me a wee bit of Luis Garcia, when all his attempts at something special, or flicks etc, ended into an opposing player's feet, we conceded a goal.

He's struggling to adapt to the system, but I think that we need to accommodate him differently. He's playing too deep at the moment.
