Morgan has been playing out wide for the reserves, so I expect him to play in his preferred position in the centre.

Can't see Wisdom playing in the middle, so am guessing he also means Henderson and possibly Downing, although Downing starting would mean Pacheco is on the bench.

        Team is reportedly as follows;

Jones, Flannagan, Carra, Coates, Wisdom, Downing, Henderson, Coady, Shelvey, Cole, Morgan

(Nicked from another forum - don't know original source).

        Cole

This is what a weakened #LFC team (with 9 changes) looked like in Europe less than 4 years ago. How times change

Ouch. Paper thin our squad isn't it

The only blessing is we are lucky in that some of the youngsters we do have show great promise. If it hadn't been for that (and we have Rafa to thank for that largely), we'd be utterly screwed for games like this.

                  Yeah definitely.

I've enjoyed watching the youngsters in the EL this season. Such a contrast to two seasons ago when we were watching Poulsen and Konchesky trotter around.

Oh, dear, Wisdom at left back? Don't tell me Cole and Downing are supporting Morgan? Poor kid doesn't stand a chance. Another note, Flannagan, Carra, Wisdom, Downing, Henderson, Coady, Shelvey, Cole, Morgan, is that a record for most english players for Liverpool in recent times?
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

No it's 3-5-2 apparently - so you'd guess Flannagan and Downing as wing backs.

I think it will be 5 at the back with downing as a LWB.

I guess we are playing 3-5-2 in attack and 5-3-2 in defence?

Coates will probably be the spare CB stepping into midfield with Henderson and Coady sitting deap, leaving shelvey and cole to support morgan? The front 3 seems weird to me.

I think It'l be close to a Rafa style 3-4-3 given the players involved.

I toyed with that idea, but just couldnt imagine Rogers trying Cole in a wide forward position and shelvey doesnt suit the role either. I guess with wingbacks they will basically be inside forwards like in a 3-4-2-1 type thing

I think Cole as wide-ish forward would be as sensible as any other position for him (he played more or less upfront in the Europa league under Hodgson and wide forward was where he played in his most successful position at Chelsea). Often under Rafa one of the wide forward players operated more 'in the hole'. I think Shelvey could work in that position. Alternatively Henderson could be playing right attacking mid/forward with Shelvey in midfield.

Joe Cole at home in bed is sensible. Useless cunt.
