And Gerrard has history as our most effective attacking midfield player and has never been that great defensivelyOriginally posted by Mattshark View PostNo, Henderson doesn't make challenges enough and isn't good enough positionally.
Rafa sussed out Gerrards position 8 years ago, the lad doesnt have the legs any more to run around and close people downBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

True but there was at least some signs of bricks and mortar after the first few monthsOriginally posted by MrNice View PostRome was not built in one spunk

Whether they are skint or not I think we wont see a big spend in JanuaryOriginally posted by marcus50bucks View PostFSG won't back him with big money. They are skint. The sooner people realise this the better. It's all about balancing the books with these guys.
January is difficult at the best of times (not impossible just difficult) and with only a very limited budget looking available it puts pressure on Rodgers to get every decision right

Hopefully he will be pushed further forward to the position where he is best atOriginally posted by clanhuman View PostGerrard should be fine when Lucas returns.
I think what the last few weeks have shown is that he is incapable of playing deeper nowadays

That was a yellow card for Bale from the ref.Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostThere's contact. Not enough to bring him down, and it's a dive, but contact is contact is contact. Lots of momentum there and Agger going to ground makes the ref's decision easy.

You know what mate, I dont know and I dont relish the idea of the crap surrounding a new manager, but just dont feel Rodgers has what it takes to make Liverpool a force again. Hey might be wrong and lets hope I am.Originally posted by Gibbo View PostWho would you get in then mate? It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

one defeat in 8, games we should be winning are draws, a defeat last night that we could and should have won . . . . . yeh being 4 pts off relegation doesnt look good but a win v southampton at weekend will kick us up table and the late december / early january congestion of games will shake the table up no end. so long as we get the promised 2 or 3 players in come the opening of the window then i still see no reason to be doom and gloom. if by 31st january we havent signed anyone and are still 12th - 17th then id worry.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.
