I completely agree with Nicey's post except that top 6 should be our aim.

We're a top 8 side that have blown ridiculous amounts of money on bang average signings in the last 2 seasons or so.
Rodgers is now managing whilst trying to balance the books and cut the wage bill accordingly.

Great thread imo, unrealistic to be considering 4th.
fair enough on 4th but the run in over Dec, could well realistically have us in touching distance, a combination of very winnable games, Southampton at Home West Ham away, Villa home, Fulham Home, Stoke away, QPR away for us and tough games for those teams above us

I'm with you nicey and I've posted along those lines before.

With respect to people like Lecter, they're not seeing how we're progressing and what's involved.

Totally agree with this post. Despite not having as many points on the board as we would have liked at this stage, our progress is obvious to see. We can see the way BR sets up and his philosophies, we just lack the quality of player to fully implement them.

The last time we were any good was in 2009, and since them we've had to replace practically the whole team. Even the star performers that we still have (Gerrard, Carragher & Reina) are a shadow of their former selves. Hopefully with the right guidance, Reina can get back to that level.

Despite our in-diffferent PL form, we still have an outside chance of 4th as we're only 7 points off 3rd & 4th spot. On the whole our PL performances have been good apart from the West Brom & Arsenal games.

Even if we don't make 4th, hopefully we'll be able to reflect on a good progressive season. With proper backing for BR, we should make a real go of the top 4 spot next season.

If we grind out one nils until january no one will complain.

We did not exactly grind out a one nil last time out, we hit the post, hit the upright, had some bloody lovely attacking play and just played excellently, including setting up really nicely against a decent team on a very good run of form.

3 of our loses came in practically the first month under the new set up, to be expected, since then we have kept 5 clean sheets, were robbed of a couple of wins due to wrongly disallowed goals, which would of put us 1 single point of 4th.

As it is we are 7 points off 3rd !! moving into a nice period of games, welcoming back out star player, who is just on another level Lucas, we are now able to put out a much more balanced team and the players know there will be most likely some fresh players coming in soon, so they will be eager to please.

Extremely happy with what I have seen so far

                  I think that unlikely.

Sometimes its just good to have a moan though.

I still haven't gotten over Dalglish's recruitment drive and I could bore you all about how annoyed I still am about it.

                      I am all ears.

Seriously, that is why I come on this forum, to read, discuss and share opinions. Don't understand all this Nicey holier than thou attitude. Superfan wannabe.
