Another injury plagued season and we'll be looking to get rid I reckon.

Without sounding negative and I sincerely hope he returns as he's lethal but I think his career is finished. He's been out for too long imo, that is one hell of a recovery period which makes me think all is not right.
To suffer from gammy hips at his age shows that he has serious problems. Will be a real shame for him if his career has to end so soon as he's probably the most natural finisher in the league.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

My main concern with his constant injury issues is that he'll lose his lightening pace.
Stoke away two years ago for his goal, he sprinted up field while Suarez held the ball up; left every player for dead! We didn't see that once last season. I know he wasn't fully fit...
He'll never be slow don't get me wrong, but he had that extra bit of pace that others don't have and it made a massive difference.

IIRC the injuries he has had haven't been the ones that fast players never really recover from, so I think there is cause to be hopeful that that won't be the case.Originally posted by Mike View PostMy main concern with his constant injury issues is that he'll lose his lightening pace.

Gerrard was younger and still growing into his frame when he had his issues. From what I remember, there was something dental involved as well as the arching back / stoop he used to have.
Sturridge is a proper worry. Its a strange one as well, because its not like he's a Torres or Owen type who has been overburdened with top flight football from an early age. As well as that, its a crying shame, because he's as naturally talented a striker as we've ever had at the club. I hope this year is an anomaly for him, but.......

Sure I've seen him mention that his dad and uncle both had very similar problems.
