It's only due to Suarez being basically the best player on the planet that he doesn't get the level of hero worship he deserves from his own support.
His celebration may be naff, but it has proved lucky. I'll bet he doesn't consider changing it, and I hope we see it loads more.Modifying post.

His talent level is just incredible. The combination of skill, technique and physical talent is just unbelievable. He's actually better than Torres was it his peak for us in my opinion. Just needs that platform of the Champions League to make it abundantly clear to the rest of football.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostGetting bored of the punditry on him just now. Its always qualified with the statement "with the form he's in right now" - he's been in "that form" for a full calendar year now, so its not some flash in the pan run an average striker might go on, say like your Andy Carroll types - the stats he's accumulated over the last calendar year have gone beyond a decent run. This is the arrival of a world class talent.
He's way ahead of any other english national player and as good as anything we've had at Liverpool. World class.

I haven't agreed but I'm having to re-evaluate now. I think the difficulty in weighing it up is partly down to Torres being the clear hero when he was here, the number one goalscorer and probably the best number 9 on the planet at the time. In fact there was no probably about it. But Sturridge isn't even our best striker.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostI'm with you on that one. It's mental.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

In theory:Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostHe's going to be comfortably the quickest ever LFC player to get 50 goals at this rate. That says it all. World class.
1. Sturridge - 62 games*
2. Torres - 84 games
3. Suarez - 91 games
4. Owen - 93 games
5. Fowler - 94 games
*Sturridge currently has 32 in 39 games. If he keeps up that ratio he should reach 50 goals in about 62 games.

Torres had a whole system designed to accommodate him though, Sturridge is adaptable and plays across a front line according to the tactics for the match.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostTBF he has been playing with a much better attack than Torres.
And Torres had peak Gerrard and Alonso behind, feeding him to score the goals.

But Sturridge has Suarez Teeing him up for sitters. That trumps anything any player has ever had to work withOriginally posted by Daniel 7 View PostTorres had a whole system designed to accommodate him though, Sturridge is adaptable and plays across a front line according to the tactics for the match.

Not saying he's not a great player, he is class, just that the stat isn't necessarily all about him
