Not sure why he wasn't subbed in the England game until the 89th minute.
When you look at the players that Hodgson brought on, Delph could have quite easily been for Henderson and Milner for Sterling. But Hodgson seems to be of the mindset to play Liverpool players for as close to 90 minutes as possible.
I guess his reaction is to fear the worst - especially with a scan being involved. You have the media reporting short term, Twitter reporting long term and I know who I'd believe more in this situation.

Yeah it was ****ing stupid, fair enough with Henderson, his warm down is probably to run for another 90minutes! But leaving Sturridge on for basically the whole game was disgraceful. Though this is the fella who admitted playing a Sturridge who wasn't feeling right in a friendly to "test his resolve". He was out for 2 months not long after. This scumbag and his dinosaur methods need eradicating from the game ASAP. He's a disease on world sport.Originally posted by Muddled View PostNot sure why he wasn't subbed in the England game until the 89th minute.

Thigh related with the Guardian saying two to three weeks.
If it's a strain it will depend on the extent of the damage, but it could be up to two weeks (grade one), two to eight weeks (grade two) and eight weeks or more for a grade three. I'm sure this is why we have various timescales being banded about because nobody really knows the result of the scan yet.Last edited by Muddled; 06-09-14, 10:39 AM.

Interesting article highlighting Daniel Sturridge's injuries
Many seem similar ...thigh/hamstring......which can be a result of a training regime
issue -remember all the achillies injuries when Boersma was at the club -that is often caused by too much running pre season!!!
Our medics have in the main been excellent in reducing the number of days lost through injury and largely due to BR listening to what they say and putting the players needs first
Now it may be coincidence but it would be very annoying if the England training regime did anything which puts players at risk.
OK we may not have to pay DS wages whilst injured on England duty but one thing is for certain it seemed folly to have DS play nearly all the game in a friendly when the Swiss game was looming. Hodgson is clearly "feeling the pressure" now although he has enjoyed an easy time from the Journos following the WC. I feel the tide is turning and if England don't get a decent result in Switzerland Woy could be history sooner that later if the gutless FA decide to act.
