Did he sig nthat contract already or? Maybe we need to change it to a pay-as-you-play kind of deal.

Yes he can, Lyon often play with one up front and use attackers from midfield and out wide as support to the main forward . Funny thing is that they sometimes use the exact same diamond formation that we did last season, and Lacazette looks fantastic when that is used.
He only turned 23 this year and he is the senior striker for Lyon. All of their other forwards range between 19 and 21.
From the bits I have seen of him he is a goal threat when on his own or when another forward is played with him, but he looks dynamite when he has mobile players around him, be they other forwards or support attackers from midfield.
Personally I would want to see him played with another quality attacker up front, similar to how we used Sturridge and Suarez, because Lacazette is a magnet for defenders and that frees up space for his fellow attackers.
Something about him just screams that he is close to becoming a breakout player, and the way he has started this season, 11 goals in 13 games, suggests that may happen sooner rather than later.
What I do like about him is that there are glimpses of what Suarez gave us in his play. That willingness to go at two or three players, and the self confidence that he will come out the other side with the ball. The roaming all over the final third, and no fear when it comes to having a crack on goal.
Obviously he is not a Suarez level player, but there is something about him that has me thinking that he may go on to be a special player in his own right. Given that he only turned 23 this year he does have time on his side, and he looks to have bucketloads of talent.Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 19-11-14, 03:36 PM.I don't hate people. Fair enough, if this is true then hes certainly worth looking at from my point of viewOriginally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostYes he can, Lyon tend to play with one up front and use attackers from midfield and out wide as support to the main forward .

The worry is do FSG now share the same vision and or faith in their transfer committee
As I said in another thread there has to be some doubt after the money they have spent this summer, in addition to the money that has been spent on strikers that are flawed for one reason or another
We have spent £49m on Sturridge (£12m), Borini (£11m), Balotelli (£16m), Aspas (£8m) & Lambert (£3m) and the only one who has so far proved to be a success is Sturridge and hes proving to be too injury proneBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. For me what we need is a striker who can play alongside a fit Sturridge and be effective, but who can also takes Sturridge's place when Sturridge is out injured again.
Lacazette is perfect for that in my opinion. He can play in a diamond with another striker. He can play in a diamond when an AM is put where the second striker would normally go in that formation and a second AM is played behind them. He can play in a standard 4-3-3 and he looks good in a 4-2-3-1.
I agree with what you say above, but the other side of it is that FSG must know that a quality striker is needed, and Lacazette would surely tick a lot of moneyball boxes for FSG.
Young
Talented
Flexible when it comes to what formations he can excel in.
Rep as a potential future star
Good stats this season (as in his goals to games, fouls won per game etc. His goals to shots ratio could be better but think he is in around the 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 mark this season to date)
One thing that is for sure though, and you nailed it with your comment, and that is that our attacking options are not looking the part to date despite the cash spent, save for Sturridge when fit.Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 19-11-14, 04:23 PM.I don't hate people. I don't recall him missing 1 game through injury. More than made up with missing through suspension thoughOriginally posted by ronanm View PostThat was another thing about Suarez - he never (rarely anyway!) got injuredOriginally posted by fah-qDidn't someone once see Philip Schofield ****ting into a crisp packet?

I get the impression that Sturridge needs to feel 100% to play whereas some players, Suarez being the perfect example, want to play even when they have a niggle.
I think it is Robben that famously refuses to play unless he feels 100%.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1
