I doubt he'll put in a worse performance in his career. Clearly he needs more time to get back to a high standard & hopefully he doesn't get injured again in the process.

He's trying too hard to be the goalscorer we've been crying out for all season and he's being too selfish as a result. Over thinking things and over doing things. Rustiness I hope.

He's always been on the greedy side - not a bad thing as a striker - and it usually pays off so we tend not to mention it. But I agree mate, I think tonight was a combination of being rusty and trying too hard.

Agreed. He's cost us tonight. He scores or assists and we are through.

His performance, specifically greed/selfishness, tonight was reminiscent of how he used to play at Chelsea and also why a lot of people had reservations about him signing for us. To be honest, it's the first time he has shown it in a Liverpool shirt to that degree but I hope he stops it. Immediately.

Sometimes it is ok to just shoot, you don't need to beat the defender 5 times.

Yeah, get the ball out your feet and hit the bloody thing. He's doing that far too often lately. Beats a man then goes back to beat him again.

The one where Mario played him in had to be hit first time.

He seems to have come back with a point to prove, bit of an attitude on the pitch and trying really hard to do everything himself, he's a always been a little bit selfish but he's been doing it a lot more recently.

Hopefully it's just a little bit of rustiness and eagerness to impress and he soon settles back down again.

Really concerned about this. Hopefully its just him wanting as much on the ball match practice while he's recovering. Which is fine.

Noticed the manager/players must have had a word at half time as he started passing a lot more (relatively) in the second half.

I think we can cut him some slack he's incredibly rusty from being out of action for most of the season.
