If this is true, things have really took a slide in the last weeks. Sterling off form, Can looking knackered, United loss, Skrtel out for 3 games and now Sturridge out. The mancs will be jizzing themselves.

As regards Sturridge, i feel for him but it's getting a bit ridiculous now.

Mancs think its all over now. But I reckon LvG won't be able to work out Sherwood's Villa (mainly 'cos Sherwood doesn't know how to work out a Sherwood plan). Villa to get a surprise win/draw leaving us some breathing room even if we draw against Arsenal. Then we go on a run.

We've been beating teams without Sturridge all season, this is just the false hope we need to feed other teams that we've been 'weakened' all of a sudden.
      One tit for another.

14 separate injuries since he joined Liverpool, from what I read today. That's a real problem that has to be addressed with recruitment in the summer. I guess we're going to find out a lot about the ambitions of the owners this coming summer. The honeymoon is well and truly over now.

          Was it ever a honeymoon?

Plenty have been happy to stick the knife in at the slightest excuse to disapprove with proceedings.
          Oh I don't know.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will push Daniel Sturridge to declare himself fit for Saturday’s showdown with Arsenal.

The Reds’ trip to the Emirates could well decide their Champions League fate, and Rodgers is *desperate for his England striker to play.

First reports suggested the hip injury which ruled Sturridge out of international duty this week could sideline the player for at least a month, as he returned to Merseyside for treatment.

But the Anfield medical team have assessed the slight tear Sturridge suffered in his hip flexor muscle, and they believe he should be fit enough to face the Gunners.

Sturridge picked up the injury during the disappointing defeat by bitter rivals Manchester United which *delivered a serious set back to Liverpool’s top four hopes.

And with both Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel both suspended for the visit to the Emirates, and Adam Lallana an injury doubt after pulling out of the England squad, Rodgers is keen for Sturridge to make himself available.

The Anfield manager has long spoken of the need for his free scoring striker to play more games if he is ever to fulfil his potential and reach a genuine world class level.

There is a feeling Sturridge needs to feel 100 per cent on top of his game to play freely, but the Reds believe if they can persuade their striker to fight through his lingering sense of pain, it will provide some much needed momentum at Arsenal.

The England star has missed more than half the season so far with two different injuries, and there has been some frustration amongst the fans as the club’s Champions’ League challenge has suffered.

The prognosis for the weekend though is better than expected, and while the decision ultimately lies with *Sturridge, the Reds are still hopeful he will provide an important boost by making the trip to London.

Hodgson played him while he wasn't 100% and got pelters for it, rightly. Be ridiculous if we do the same.

What players are 100% at this time of year though, they'll all be carrying something. And the Hodgson stick is because he plays him in meaningless friendlies or v San Marino when he's unfit. Not to mention we pay his wages anyway not England.

                  100% fit bit is irrelevant.
It's about the extent of the injury Sturridge has, if we play him, make his current injury worse and he breaks down and is out for the rest of the season then it's a pointless risk for the Arsenal game.

If his injury is stopping him from being 100% but playing him doesn't risk any long term repercussions then get on with it, make yourself available and play if selected.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I doubt that will come into it. We'll still need to comply with FFP so unless we sell a boatload of players for a lot of money I don't think Liverpool will have a very deep pot for buying players.

It's one of the main reasons we didn't buy anyone in the January transfer window imo.

I'd be surprised if our net spending will be much over £30 million during the close season.

Yeah thats what I meant. If he's fit enough to play then play him. If there's a chance of making it worse then don't.

Got to ask yourself how many games will Sturridge make next season He turns 26 in September and he should be banging in the goals not nursing injury after injury as of today he has missed 45 games via injury for Liverpool, hopefully he gets a good break during the summer and has an injury free 2015/16 season because he is a top Striker and we have really missed his goals.

We have missed 'goals' for sure. Top scorer on six, that's just pitiful.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Yup huge miss for us this season, fantastic when he's fit but this season has essentially been a write off for him and us.

If he can stay fit next season it'll be interesting how we line up and if Divock can force his way into the starting lineup next to him.

That must be some sort of record?

                              According to Wikipaedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...l_F.C._seasons

Our worst ever season was 1903/04 when our leading scorer had nine goals (and we got relegated from div1)
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

We've done remarkably well to be where we are with a top scorer of 6!

Gerrard, Sterling and Henderson all on 6. Next highest is Southampton (Pelle) with 8.
