We all thought he was the new robbie fowler.......turns out he could be the new Harry Kewell....
That would require simple common sense!

Just read on the BBC that they think he needs surgery on his hip. It never ends.

Daniel Sturridge: Liverpool striker may need surgery on hip injury

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has flown to the United States to determine whether he needs surgery on an ongoing hip problem.

Sturridge has played just twice since he picked up the injury in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United on 22 March.

The 25-year-old England international will visit Dr Peter Asnis, an orthopaedic surgeon based in Boston.

Ansis has a history of working with the Boston Red Sox baseball franchise, who are also owned by Fenway Sports Group.

Sturridge joined Liverpool for £12m in January 2013 and scored 24 goals in all competitions in the 2013-14 season as the Reds finished second in the Premier League.

However, he suffered a thigh strain on international duty in September before injuring a calf in training in October.

He picked up another thigh injury in November and did not play again until 31 January, when he netted in the Reds' 2-0 win over West Ham.

Liverpool are fifth in the Premier League with four games remaining, seven points behind Manchester United, who occupy the final Champions League qualification place.

Well hopefully the good news is that they're closer to discovering the root cause, bad news is that if he's going under the knife it'll probably mean he misses some of pre-season.

Now's the time to do it I guess. Season is pretty much done, get any op required out of the way, recover over the summer and hopefully get a full pre-season in. He'll then be raring to go next season*

                  * That's my optimistic view.

Like we all hope , come back next season firing especially with no major tournament in the summer .

Also have another striker in place who can take the pressure off him as well .

I share this optimistic view as Sturridge hardly ever needs preseasons to play like a world class striker. Its obvious this season even when "recovered" he was still moving like a man with a problem. If we can have him back 100% I have no doubts of where we will be next season.

Now for the pessimistic view, Sturridge does seem to damage different body parts rather easiliy (ankles, muscles). This could be as a result of compensating for the underlying issue but once the other components go its all bad news I'm afraid.

Blondie's Heart of Glass for him as his new terrace choon.

He scored some goals... And it was a gas
But it soon turned out... He was made of glass
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I hope they don't think "we've found the cause of his problems, we'll sort it out and go into next season again relying on him alone"

Shame isn't as could be up there with the best if he could keep fit for us.

Ridiculous season for injuries and looked shadow of the player from last year.

Lets hope they can find and fix the underlying problem meaning he can put his injury problems behind him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
