If he was a **** player you'd be saying get rid of the crock but when he's fit he's outstanding. In saying that it is getting a bit ridiculous at this stage, I do feel sorry for him though. He just can't get going can he & we really do need him or someone of his quality, on a regular basis.

I think if we had Benteke and Ings fit and running or if we had others chipping in with goals, we could well afford to have Sturridge as a luxury player. He had a serious injury and has been out due to that. He's had surgery that has hopefully resolved that. When you're just starting back from a long period out you're far more susceptible to minor knocks. No surprise that he is out at present.
The big question is whether or not he's solved the long term issues. If he hasn't, then he is a luxury player that can't be relied on and needs to be sold. If he has, then he has a chance of being the best striker in the league.
Jury is out and will remain so for a good while I'd say. As for criticism aimed at him, ridiculous. If I was him I'd be mega paranoid of picking up a serious knock every time I felt even a slight twinge. Clearly this is a mental issue that will plague him on top of other problems. here's a thought, get a somewhat fit sturro (look i like him and all, he's ace when fit and firing - but honestly think he will do well in a slower paced/tactical league) and do a trade in jan (Dybla will suit us to a tee)? Sturridge will probably need to switch learning Spanish to Italian for now - till he gets his dream move to Valencia/Sevilla/ATM (
