In all honesty, do we really need an injury prone striker playing with niggling injuries? What happens if he says '**** it, stick me on and see how it goes' and then 20 minutes into the game he pulls up and is out for another 2 months. In the process leaving us to make a tactical change 20 minutes into a game.

Pointless him playing if he doesnt think he is 100% at this point.
You are missing the point (which I am not saying is right ) the point is actually it may be beneficial for him to play injured .. when the injury is minor

I like Sturridge .. I am not saying this is the case .. just discussing it

either way one thing I do not like is his injury record whether its completely kosher or not .. is irrelevant, fact of the matter is, he is unavailable, time and time again .. we cannot afford to carry a player like that ... I'd be inclined to sell him in the summer if we got any kind of offer for him .. use those wages for a striker who can actually get on the pitch

I think Sturridge's problem is in his head but not in the way people assume - its God that's the issue - he is waiting for a sign that all is well!

Sturridge is starting to sound like my 4 year old son.

This is by no means uncommon. I recall a radio interview a few years ago from a pro football physio, I can't recall the specifics so please don't ask for names etc. Anyway, this guy stated that Dutch players in particular were like this, many of them would rule themselves out unless they were 100% fit, something instilled in them from their development at youth level.

I really do think that Daniel has a mental issue as well as being made of glass.

                      From the Sports Bible

The former Liverpool captain describes how Sturridge needed to be convinced to play when he had injury troubles.

Gerrard explains on this occasion that Sturridge was worried about a slight thigh injury ahead of a big game against Manchester United and he was unsure whether or not to play.

The skipper was told beforehand that Sturridge was infact fine to play and it was simply a mental block. No wonder Gerrard was desperate to get the England international on the field. Iago Aspas was his replacement.

It's all wild speculation based on zero evidence.

The same as Sturridge's mental toughness

Gerard also wanted Curbishley instead of Rafa so...
