Unless he was running on his cheek and risking permanently stopping his ability to run if he further damaged his cheek not really relevant.

It's about preventing injury not being a wuss.

some people think there is a small element of him being a little bit of a wuss also. Suarez is a classic example... the amount of times I seen him getting cleaned out .. wince in real pain ... get up .. hobble about then ... ****ing eye of the tiger as soon as it was on .. only to be seen in the next game .. and the next and on and on

With Dan there is perhaps a potential mental element .. he already thinks he is somehow genetically made of Glass .. thats not the right mindset ... I know it might come across as I am just tearing him and new areshole but regardless whos right or whos wrong .. people have a natural threshold for pain and as fans .. the overall feeling I would suggest is he is fast approaching the Fan threshold

Yeah... I'm mean apart from being a professional footballer playing for Liverpool on a £150k a week. Put that to one side and his life looks ****.

This thread has been bumped because he's NOT injured? Am I in a parallel universe?

What about him heading the ball?

He knew the dangers but put himself out there for the team.

I never said Sturridge is a wuss but he's paid a fortune to put the ball in the back of the net and he's not doing it very often because of what? because he doesn't want to get injured?

                    Give me a break

It could be that or it could just be his ghost writer (Winter?) saying stuff that would look good in print so the book sells.

Having read the first Gerrard book it seems a lot of the stuff is lazy Friday afternoon dart throwing.

They used to drink a lot more in the old days too.

                        Maybe that's the answer?

one of the things in sturridges favour is that he has no competition at liverpool for the number 9 spot. Benteke is a different sort of forward - more of a plan B than a plan A. So sturridge may not be as worried about getting his place back because he knows there isnt another number 9 like him at the club. As soon as he is fit (at his own pace) he gets his spot back.

In the summer, if the budget allows and if his injury problems carry on then we need to look at bringing in someone who can basically relegate sturridge to the bench.

he has been mishandled but our reliance on a part time world class striker is farcical.

I'm sure that Benteke and most of the LFC and Villa fanbase would disagree about competition for the number 9 spot.
