Hopefully that was just him being over cautious and rusty. At least he can't claim to be injured after that though, didn't get near enough to anyone to actually get hurt
He didn't really affect the game but he's surely very, very rusty and our game wasn't good when he came on, we just hoofed it upwards and there was some anxiety in our play, so I'll cut him some slack, but finally he makes an appearance.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He is sending a clear message to Dan, make no pseudo fracture bones about it

          Nah.

He did more in the first 5 minutes of coming on than Benteke did the whole game before he did. Benteke stood in the D barely moving, offering no movement. Sturridge created space as soon as he stepped on the pitch, like when Milner had the pulled shot from a Henderson pass (which he nearly got on the end of).

He didn't. Beneke wasn't great, but he made a few good runs had a couple of chances and did that nice little touch to put Ibe through on goal early on. Sludge did nothing... other than create space

Maybe it looked different on camera, I dunno. From where I was, I could see more movement and interaction with the midfield than Benteke offered for the whole game before it.

But maybe we're both seeing what we wanted to!

Hey I want Sturridge to succeed. He's one of the best strikers going around when he's playing. And he's crucial for us to get top 4, if he's fit for the rest of the season we will get top 4 easy IMO.

Hence my frustration at his lack of willingness to play recently.

People keep rushing to make judgements on Dan. Can't see why people don't give him until the summer to show he can stay fit & conform to what Klopp wants. It's a guessing game right now.

At least this year we don't look so reliant on Dan to achieve anything unlike last year.

Would love him to get full fitness and be involved every week, he seemed to bring some panache to our play when he plays.

Think he sways opinion because we have seen the best of him when we nearly won the league and want that player back.

Not the one who is never available after being told he would be back fitter than ever after surgery and a proper recovery.

I think we are still. Benteke is still finding his feet and Origi isn't ready yet, cue our low scoring record this year. We are a bit more solid and less fragile under Klopp but our frailties are still there, especially in attack.
                        Are we winning?

Benteke is being extremely underestimated by a lot of people in my books.

Since coming back from injury in Oct... he came off the bench 3 times and scored twice
He had 2 full games drew blank, another off the bench, his next full game he scored again

He is one of those players its just as important the players around him know how to get the best of him, his movement is excellent and he does not need much of an opening to punish teams ... if you look back at the service he has got over the past 7 games or so .. its not been great .. which is a running theme with all our strikers

Definitely look more solid under Klopp and away games at least we look dangerous against anybody we play on the road hence the wins at city and Chelsea without a recognised striker.

However good we do without Sturridge, fact remains that if he is fully fit & on form we will do better. From knocking on the door to a case of kicking the door off the hinges.

                                Should 100% sell him.

                                Absolutely useless.
