I think this too. I don't think any decision has been made, and he's that good that it is worth not playing him for a few months now in order to fix him and have him working properlyOriginally posted by el matador View Postthe easy thing for kloppo is to play sturridge at whatever fitness he is and try and win some games. I think he's finding out for certain whether he can rely on sturridge for the next 3 seasons - not just for the next 3 games.
once he decides he cant then sturridge will come back into the team to get whatever we can out of him and to put him in the window. then we will try and buy a replacement in the summer.
we cant go through the another period with sturridge like the last 18 months. A top club cannot wait for its sicknote striker to be bothered to do what hes paid to do.I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I think there is clearly something very wrong with the situation
Klopp is clearly pissed off with him and that makes you wonder if the stories about him being a malingerer have foundationBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I agree with this, he needs to be given the proper length of time to come back fully fit. If that means doing a pre season for the next 6 months to build strength and resistance to muscle injuries into him then so be it. One thing I'd be adamant about is that if he is just back playing towards the end of the season then the Euros are out of the question.Originally posted by Fierce View PostI think this too. I think (maybe foolishly) that we'll have a fully fit Sturridge next year and he'll tear the league up.

Perhaps naive to think it's possible for him to get and stay fit, but if it were a bad break with a definite year out, we wouldn't ditch him, we'd rehabilitate accordingly. Same should happen now

Reading between the lines it does sound like that though.Originally posted by serenejim View PostMy understanding is that Klopp won't play him till he's trained properly for a certain number of days. Sturridge keeps dropping the odd day so Klopp resets the clock to zero. This will go on forever till Sturridge gets the message.

Not quite, every day Sturridge trains is more miles in his legs, so while Klopp started saying he needed to train for 9 consecutive days (or whatever it was) before he'll consider him that won't necessarily continue.
If Sturridge trains for 20 of the 30 days but only manages 5 or 6 consecutively that's still a lot more resistance being built up, problem was/is that Sturridge got in the cycle of play, get injured, declare fit to train, train once or twice, play, get injured etc.. etc... because we became desperate and he got used to not doing the hard yards fitness wise. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
