Pretty sure Liverpool will have to pay someone to take Skrtel.

We've all seen the £££ before when losing players for hefty sums and look what has happened with their replacements - to a man, ****e. How many strikers have the talent Sturridge has? How many are likely to move, and how many are goimng to be willing to come to Liverpool?

Realistically, we're better off keeping him. £50m for Sturridge goes alongside £50m for Sterling and £75m for Suarez. Its sending out the message that we're a selling club that can't / won't keep its best players. I'd hope for a bit more ambition.

Yep, it's hard enough to get a top striker at the best of times but now there seems to be a shortage anyway and possibly Real Madrid, Man Utd (who still havent been able to replace Persie), Arsenal (who's striker search led them to the amazing Danny Welbeck), Chelsea and a few others like Juve looking. Should have plenty of money from what we make and selling others like Benteke, I wouldnt let him go anywhere, not arsed what any offer is.

Same for any offers for Coutinho, Can, Firmino etc. Thanks for the interest but **** right off.

Would you sell Sturridge if you knew you could sign Reus or Aubameyang?

Everyone has their price and £50m for an injury ridden want away Sturridge would be good business. I'm banking on Klopp doing a Rafa and having a long list of players he thinks will be an instant him in the prem.

Liverpool have only lost a handful of players that the club wanted to keep and they were to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City. Chelsea is debatable as they club may have seen that Torres was not what he was after the 2010 injury and 50m was insane.

Yes we have Klopp now but we still don't have any evidence his presence will be enough to stop us wasting vast some of cash on average players. This summer is huge in setting the tone going forward.

Even when money is well spent players can take a while to settle, Firmino last summer is a good example, first half of the season we saw some positives but he didn't look like being worth close to what we paid for him, second half of the season it looks like it could have been a bargain.

I've said for a while I am against wholesale changes and spreading our cash too thin, this summer should be about bringing in 3 or 4 quality players who will improve the first 11 and pushing the players they replace down to the bench / squad players that is how you improve.

Saying £70m for Benteke and Sturridge is fine but as soon as everyone knows you have money prices go up and your money doesn't go as far as you think. I would want to keep Sturridge as when fit he is one of the best strikers in the league, and bring in another top quality striker (as an improvement on Benteke). But every player has their price and if PSG are interested and talking £45m that is probably getting close to his price I would say if we could get offers over the £60m mark that would be very tempting given his injury record. However it selling him does tell people that we are a club prepared to sell our best players and that is a tag that we need to shake.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I get what Dan7 is saying though - Alonso, Masch, Suarez and to a less extent Sterling are all players I'd wished we'd not sold regardless of who they moved on to.

Replacing talented players is tough but if he is does go I sort of feel we will do so with a plan rather than in previous years when it's been a bit of a mess.

No offence to Kenny but Klopp is our first top class managerial appointment in 6 years. I think by the summer he'll know exactly who will cut it and who he needs to sell in order to raise funds. I trust him even more than I trusted Rafa to bring in top quality signings.

You and me both. By all means get a top striker in if we can (who?) but we shouldn't have to sell Sturridge to do it. Squad depth is built by keeping your best players and adding to them, not sell one/buy one.

Somebody is going to take a chance on Lacazette eventually and his price has dropped right off, I'd have a go at him but keeping Sturridge too.

So it seems people want us to sell our only striker capable of being "world class" and buy one whomis better at (i) running around; and (ii) defending.

                            Crazy.

That's it in a nutshell. Sturridge scores all the time when he is on the pitch, big mistake to sell unless his injuries have finished him. I would always prefer to sell our better players when we already have there replacements in.
